Angling related Christmas pressies?

So what angling related pressies were in your stocking this year?

I had a few - main one being a new brolly - dropped hint thoughtfully picked up by my lovely wife Jaq who also raided a local second hand book shop for a couple of interesting looking reads. Reflections on a River by Howard Marshall - which mainly features my local River Lambourn in the 50's & 60's and Caught by the Water ed by Jeff Barrett, Robin Turner & Andrew Welsh an anthology on British rivers - both of which I'm eager to start reading.

Son II (Sam) bought me a nice warm fleece - whilst mum defaulted to the usual thick socks!!

What did others get?

The wife bought me a Shimano reel and a light tackle trolley for keeping permanently at our holiday static so that I don't have to take any gear with me in the car whenever I go there.

(NB: she's getting me another twin-tip specialist rod to to go with the reel on my birthday so I'll have to wait till February for that).

Cor that sounds good, any pics of the river? I'd spend all my time trying to identify locations.

It's never a 'six', let's put it back

Yes - quite a few - mainly B&W - and you're immediately struck by the amount of rununculus growth in the river. A few pics of the middle Kennet too...
