Some democracy we have ,if a new runway goes ahead in reality a private company will force 800 homeowners out of their homes and buy land forcibly from land owners

Yes the council has been able to do it but now companies are doing it for more profit

i care about injustice and the little guy being picked on by the big guy

i dont know anyone in the firing line so no-one could care unless they do ,its the principle thats wrong

How come our close europeon neighbours, and countries in the middle and far east have multi runway hub airports while the u k is arguing the toss for 3 years to build an additional runway at heathrow, (full up) or Gatwick Nimby area. And ignoring the chance to catch up and build a multi runway airport that fit for purpose, easy to get to, heathrow ain't.

Because the countries in question start from fresh (like boris island) or have mores space to enlarge ,no-one wants manston yet its an existing airport ,its not down to need just greed .

As i will never fly again we should have no airports at all except when i need stuff via airmail from china.

Why do we need more room a great number of passengers change at heathrow and gatwick the local tesco down the road doesnt profit in any way only the internal shops gain.

If xxx amount of jobs are created its xxx cars on the road going to heathrow more congestion ,more roads? Concrete the south over for profit ,should big companies have the power to kick out homeowners and landowners for profit

Why should the south suffer to cater for foreigners ,i am sure if brits want to go abroad they would get a plane from southampton or get a boat ,why should people in the south suffer for selfish holidaymakers and a great number of wealthy flying in the posh seats for something they can do online

If that silly railway for the wealthy goes ahead stick a new airport on it in the north ,the houses only cost £3 quid each it would make far more sense or fill coniston in with rubbish and stick one in there

I fully support the idea of a purpose made multi runway airport, boris island. With that there would be two new crossings over the lower thames to get rid of the m25 Dartford crossing car park and help with the blackwall tunnel, err car park. Along with a new rail crossing linking north, That will also help with hs2. So as a non nimby I would welcome that as opposed to an expansion of one pox runway that won't be fit for purpose as it will be running at full capacity shortly after opening.

 

Less than 10% of the u k is concreted over, including roads and houses, so plenty of room for infrastructure improvements.

Yes but that 10% isnt at heathrow ,its pretty populated darn sarf compared to oop norf stick the airport in darkest Cumbria or northumberland LOL then employ the "yoofs" pulling rickshaws transfering the air passengers to their houses ,boy that unemployment would drop or just impose a 10 grand entry fee to uk airspace for each passenger ,no need for an extra runway then

All governments are a big guy but in this case its a private company that if they get their way will have people evicted from their homes (just because they buy the house is of little matter the householder has no option but to except) and landowners forced to sell their land.

The government has always been able to do it but now big business is running the government ,the big business demands government may jump we will see if the gov has the balls to say no .

Its just foreign spite that they had to flog some other holdings ,perhaps they sold those holding under the promise of expansion and passed brown envelopes in gratitude for that who knows but the government wont get much out of it as usual from foreign owned companies
