Ollie - things on the bank (and things on the forum here) seem to have cooled down a bit since this topic was started in 2005.

 

If you notice from the first post where PMs by a member who had never posted were being used to harass members you will see one reason we set the minimum of 15 posts before a new person could send or receive PMs.

 

 

Sorry Newt, but would you have some mindless idiot abuse you? These people would protest about anything, they just enjoy protesting! They would probably protest about drug testing in the tiddly winks world cup if it meant abusing innocent people and having something to cry about. They just annoy me and I, personally, wouldnt have any of it. Im sure it doesnt happen often and things have cooled down but its not the kind of thing that could be allowed to start lol my opinion for if it kicks off again lol

Everything deemed slightly 'unethical' will have protestors. But i dont get it with angling, i can't see anything wrong, 90% of coarse anglers catch a fish, unhook it, then release it all within a couple of mins of catching it. The fish doesn't die, get seriously hurt or even feel worse off for the matter. And theres no way you can compare it to fox hunting because that was way off the charts for ethics and deservedly got banned. And at the end of the day anything killed in fishing is either eaten or used as bait So wheres the real harm?

I thought the "similar thread links" at the bottom of pages was quite a good idea at first but now Im not so sure.Ive read several threads that have been "dug up" thanks to these that were either best left burried or totally misinterpreted due to their lack of topicality.

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

Very different to the issue with fox hunting

 

IMO the campaign and abloishment of fox hunting was largely a class based issue and driven by cnuts NOT from rural areas and with no understanding of rural life etc.

 

As for fishing I think it's pretty low on the hit list

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

i am sort of glad this topic was brought back because as a new member of the forum i never knew that these people existed, and thought the angler had enough to worry about with out these idiots,

 

shame that people have empty spaces in there lives that they need to fill them with such rubbish if they had only chosen to go fishing they might all be better for it

I wouldn't worry about it Mike, you're much more likely to get into bother going to a football match. I've certainly never had any experience of this and I don't know anyone who has.

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music
