Main Lake
The main lake has been in excellent form for most species but I’ll start with predators and Leicester angler Tony Pinnock who landed a magnificent new personal best Zander of 14lb, Tony was fishing the spits at the back of the Island, the successful bait was a legered Mackerel. Adam Skelton of Leicester also got amongst the Predators with 2 Zander of 9lb and 11lb 3oz and a bonus 18lb Pike. Adam was fishing towards the buoys in open water using legered dead skimmers and Roach. Lure angler Paul Harrison of Nottingham also got amongst a few Pike with 9 fish to 18lb.

ZanderBream fishing has been excellent with most anglers catching fish to 6lb, best catch of the week was Mark Slade of Boston who fished the pellet method and boilies to land an impressive 26 fish for 84lb, Mark fished in front of the Sailing club at around 60 yards. Ian Pearce fished the same tactics in front of the sailing club and got the shock of his life when this new personal best common Carp snaffled his 10mm chocolate malt boilie on his first chuck! Ian followed that catch with 6 more Bream and a couple of Hybrids.

There have also been Carp showing with the Adam Grant of Leicester taking the weeks best fish at 24lb 6oz, Adam was fishing peg 54 towards the channel entrance, successful bait was a mainline Maple-8 boilie fished over a bed of boilie and pellet. Keith Tomlinson of Hinckley also got amongst the Carp with a 22lb Mirror and 19lb Common, Keith fished peg 1 towards the island, this time a homemade fruit boilie fished over a bed of the same was the winning tactic.

The Boys Pit

The Boys pit has been producing plenty of silvers and the odd Tench. Wayne Hadley of Newark fished the pole to take 20lb of Roach, Rudd and 4 Tench to 5lb, Wayne fished a small bay tight to pads on pellet to land his catch. Fishery manager Chay Jackson fished the waggler to take 4 Tench, Roach and a bonus Crucian, this time Chay fished towards the inlet on maggot to take his catch.
