Chub Carp Academy Member, Chris Lowe has successfully landed a very rare catch!

The Laney fish, caught only three times in the last two years, and each time by Chris has proven a very rare catch at Acton Burnell.

The Laney fish even managed to skip the draining of Action Burnell last year, when it was thought it had died.

Weighing in at 34.4lb the Mirror Carp put up a good fight but was eventually landed using a Chub Vantage 13ft 3.5lb rod and a 12mm fruit and nut boilie from SBS, a bait developed by Chris for the company. It was caught on a size 8 Korda wide gape hook on 15lb heavy skin hook link.

Chris went on to catch two further Mirrors at Acton, both weighing in at 35lb and 38lb.

Chris Lowe said;
“It was a struggle to catch the fish. As soon as I arrived at the water and set up they moved off to another part so I had to move everyday to keep up with them. I am amazed that I caught The Laney Fish again, especially when I am the only angler to have caught it in the last two years!”
