Sandrine Perrier at Horton Fishing has been in touch to inform us of a great catch from their French ‘Great Lake’ venue.
Adrian Torlini and Mark McKenna took carp of: 38, 33, 37, 25, 26, 18, 29, 38, 40.02, 21, 33, 29, and: 39.09, 32, 29, 16, 25, respectively. All the fish came from right in the margins to baits cast at distance, with most takes falling to baits placed towards showing fish. All fish fell to Baitcraft T1 freezer baits, the majority of which were fished snowman style with pop ups.

The Great Lake is a 50-acre gravel pit with 18 spacious swims spread out around its banks. If it’s fully scaled mirrors and linears you are after, then this is the place. Roughly two out of three fish are over 30lb, with most being caught in the margins or off the weedbeds which are present from June to Aug.

The lake contains carp to 53lb, grass carp to 40lb and massive pike to 40lb . The place is a revelation in terms of fish beauty. The lake itself is fairly open with grassy banks and the fishing is really special.
