Budget hand-held GPS plotter with detailed UK mapping included

Following on from the success of the entry-level iFINDER GO handheld GPS plotter last year, Lowrance has now introduced the iFINDER GO2, bringing to the outdoors enthusiast all the functionality of the original version together with a detailed background map of the UK.

The built-in background map offers a detailed view of the UK and its major transport networks including motorways, A-roads, rivers and railways, together with a wealth of information on points of interest such as banks, hotels, garages, pubs, all with just a few keystrokes. It adds up to making the iFINDER GO2 an indispensable companion in any unfamiliar location.

The iFINDER GO2 is powered by a 16 parallel channel internal GPS EGNOS receiver. Standard features include the capacity to store up to 1000 waypoints, 1000 event markers and up to 100 routes. Forty zoom ranges enable the user to view maps on the 2-inch, 200 x 140 pixel screen at ranges from 0.02 up to 4000 miles.

Supplied exclusively by Silva Ltd in the UK and Ireland, the unit is NMEA-0183 output capable, allowing it to be connected to DSC VHF radios, EPIRBs and other comparable equipment to enable the broadcast of a position to the emergency services in the event of distress. Powered by two AA batteries, the iFINDER GO2 can operate for up to 48 hours on a single set, and the unit is waterproof to IPX-7 (total immersion for 30 minutes at 1 metre).
