Mark Merola fishing at WybostonMark Merola fished at Wyboston and although the fishing was slow he took a couple of interesting pictures for the February photo competition.

John Marshall managed a 10lb 4oz zander from peg 28 on the South Lagoon and on the same venue three members carp fishing on pegs 25 -27 landed a succession of bream to 7lb. Another member feeder fishing peg 2 took a large bag of bream to 3lb.

Nearby on the River Great Ouse Alan Walkley fished overnight catching three chub with two over 6lb and the third at 3lb 7oz.

At Beckerings Reservoir Mark Ridgeway tempted two 22lb+ carp, Colin Holmes had one of 22lb and a small double while Paul Farron banked 3 doubles. Plenty of roach and bream are being caught by anglers tip fishing with one having 16 decent bream in one session.

Match Result
The latest round of the Predator Cup took place on the Twenty Foot Drain near Whittlesey with Gary Scott being the only one to catch with good fish of 18lb 7oz and 14lb gracing his net. With one round to go at Lavendon Mill Gary would appear to have the trophy in the bag!

January Competition Winner:
The picture of Michael Smith with his scaley Beckerings mirror won the January photo competition. CONGRATULATIONS!

The Luton AC Board have voted to allow keepnets to be used again on the canal during the months of April and May which is great news for the local match scene as well as pleasure anglers.

I heard from Phil Starkie that sadly he’s had his locked shed broken into in Little Paxton and all his fishing gear worth an estimated £4500 stolen. The list of items is extensive but includes 3x brand new Greys Prodigy 3.25lb tc rods, 3x brand new Shimano xte-a 10000 and 3x blue Delkim txi+. A full list of items can be found in the forum pages of the British Specimen Anglers web site and there is a £500 reward on offer. Visit the British Specimen Anglers web site at www.britishspecimenanglers.co.uk

A reminder that Luton AC members can no longer fish the River Great Ouse at Haversham as the land has been sold.

Please phone/text your catch reports from Luton AC waters to 07704462635 or email catchreports@lutonac.org and  if you have pictures taken on your phone send picture messages to 07704462635.
