Due to the bad weather there are no catch reports this week.
 
King of the Pond who sponsor this column have been doing alot of underwater photography during the last couple of years and have kindly sent in a photo of the mirror carp known as Pecs who lives in North House Lake.

Avid Carp's Steve Sharp & Mark Woolley found an ice free area of the canal to fish but it was also devoid of any feeding fish. The duo took a couple of pics of Steve fishing in the snow and also a friendly robin that they fed.

Work Party Season is rapidly approaching so for all of you who enjoy maintaining our fisheries and like a good social gathering then come along and lend a hand. Some of the dates have changed from those published in the current membership book due to reasons beyond the clubs control. Work parties are open to Luton AC members only and if you complete 5 then you will be entitled to a complimentary membership for the 2013/14 season (excludes 3rd rod ticket). To register go onto the Luton AC web site and click on Work Parties in the menu on the left hand side. Any queries or comments should be directed to David Farmer the club Fisheries Manager via the web site. Dates & Venues could change, so keep an eye on the list via the web site and facebook.

The winner of our January 2013 photo competition which closes on 31st January 2013 will receive a terrific Starmer Baits bait package. It is open to anyone (members and non members) submitting a digital photo taken on any Luton AC controlled water and it can be of absolutely anything eg a sunset on the canal, a nice fish, wildlife etc. The photos submitted cannot be over a month old, the judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the result. So get snapping and forward your pictures to our usual email address catchreports@lutonac.org or send from your mobile to 07704462635.
 
We also have a photo competition purely for the predator angler sponsored by King of the Pond www.kingofthepond.com It is open to anyone submitting a digital photo of a pike, zander, chub, perch, eel or catfish caught from a Luton AC controlled water. The photos must have been taken on or after 1st June 2012 and the closing date for entries is 31st March 2013. The judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the result.

Remember to always use an adequate sized unhooking mat when targeting specimen fish, keeping the fish as low to the ground as possible when taking photos.
