Mick Bull, the 2008 PartyPoker.com Fish ‘O’ Mania Champion has booked his return ticket to Cudmore with victory in the first qualifier for the 2009 competition at Viaduct Fishery, Somerset last weekend.

PartyPoker.com Fish ‘O’ Mania is the largest competition in the sport, with the eventual winner receiving a cheque for £25,000, with the Grand Final being filmed live on Sky Sports. With so much at stake, each of the 16 qualifiers are already sold out and competition on the day is fierce.

It was the in form Warwickshire angler, fishing under the Dynamite Baits Shimano Guru banner, who handled the competition best ending with a winning weight of 126lbs 08zs. On his way to victory, Mick caught 25 carp up to 10lbs alternating between bomb and the pole feeding XL pellets.

In second place was Stuart Hipkins an Operations Manager from Birmingham who fished the straight bomb on pellet to finish with 111lbs 08ozs. In third position was a local angler from Wiltshire, Roland Lucas who finished the match with 88lbs 07ozs.

Well known angler and fishery manager at Barston Lakes, another Fish ‘O’ Mania venue for this year finished in fourth place with 86lbs and last years winner Dave Swain from Stockport, couldn’t repeat last years success ending the match in a respectable fifth with 79lbs 03ozs.
