New at Southampton Boat Show, Stand G088

Raymarine has launched RayTech V6, the latest version of its advanced navigation software suite.  This powerful PC based software uses Raymarine’s SeaTalk networking support to provide and share information with radar, digital fishfinder, charts and navigation data.  RayTech V6 can be used shore-side for passage planning, then transferred on board for full integration with Raymarine chartplotters and displays.

This latest edition of RayTech software includes SailRacer performance tools, Fishing Pro with new HD Digital fishfinding playback feature, and has added Navionics Gold and Platinum to the cartography support library.

Raymarine’s RayTech V6 can also be accessed on board by using the M1500 15inch marine monitor and dedicated USB navigation keyboard.  Designed especially for RayTech, the keyboard provides quick and easy access to the navigation software’s functions and features, such as the in-built worldwide tide and current database.

RayTech RNS V6 is easy to use with Raymarine’s E Series displays.  A single Ethernet connection links the PC running RayTech to the E Series’ SeaTalk network switch.  Using a USB CompactFlash chart reader, RayTech V6 will also support Navionics Gold and the multi-dimensional Platinum cartography. Blank CompactFlash cards are used to quickly and easily transfer Waypoints and route planning between RayTech and on board Raymarine chartplotters.

Also new, the HD Digital fishfinding playback feature enables users to record and play images from the on board fishfinder. Used by anglers, professional yacht racers, and leisure boaters alike, RayTech V6 offers a host of useful features from animated weather forecasts to navigation and race tactics.  By monitoring the wind, lay lines, other boats and weather, racers use RayTech to track the best course.  The DataTrak time-based graphics show real time performance against instrument data and vessel speed.  Polar data collection and analysis function provides detail about optimum speeds and headings for varying conditions, while route optimization enables users to identify the best course taking into account ocean current, wind speed and direction and the vessel’s polar characteristics.

RayTech V6 is able to support Raster, Vector, 3D and Aerial photography, and is recommended for use with a PC containing a Pentium IV processor, or faster.  For ease of use on board, Raymarine recommends the optional M1500 high resolution, sunlight viewable colour display, and USB navigation keyboard with innovative keyboard/cursor combination and dedicated navigation and soft keys.  The built-in cursor, Twist‘n’Clickâ„¢ rotary knob and alphanumeric keypad support the RayTech functions, and the keyboard can be flush mounted using a customisable bezel, or removed from its dash mount cradle for in-hand use.  The M1500 monitor is designed to fit neatly into any vessel, thanks to its removable bezel that can be painted to match the interior specifications, or by flush mounting directly into a custom dashboard without a bezel.  The M1500 Marine monitor also has video and audio inputs.

RayTech V6 navigation software retails at £427 ex VAT.   RayTech V5 to RayTech V6 upgrade costs £111 ex VAT.
