Red Kite CottagesThe Cambrian Mountains form the main watershed of Wales, with the rivers Severn, Wye, Elan, Irfon, Tywi, Cothi, Teifi, Ystwyth, Rheidol, and Twymyn all having their sources here.  The river Teifi for instance, starts within a mile of Ffair Rhos, just above the village in the Teifi Pools, with fabulous views and popular with anglers and walkers.  Ceredigion waters provide challenging sport for sea, shore and freshwater and course fishing, therefore there are increasing numbers of anglers visiting the area.  The most popular fishing rivers are the Teifi, Aeron, Rheidol, and Ystwyth.  The seaward reaches of the Dyfi are also popular.  Freshwater angling focuses on trout, salmon and sewin (sea trout).  The seaward reaches of the Teifi are especially considered world-class for it’s sewin, and the wild brown trout are particularly challenging in the rivers of Ceredigion. There are plentiful opportunities for lake, reservoir and pool fishing, with Atlantic salmon, rainbow and brown trout on offer. For course anglers, there is a wide variety of fish, including carp, tench, perch, rudd, chub, bream, gudgeon and roach. Cardigan Bay is renowned for its bass and black bream.  Boats can be chartered from several of Ceredigion’s small course fishing, therefore there are increasing numbers of anglers visiting the area.
