Week ending 1st Sept 2009

Trout fishing
We can now start to look ahead into the winter season for the trout lakes as all the weed is getting cut and fresh fish are restocked into both lakes.  The lakes will be closed until Friday evening as the stocking will be taking place on the morning 200 fresh hard fighting 3lb plus fish up into ddouble figures will be introduced into both lakes which will kick the trout season off again in style.  The fishery is also joining the trout masters so anglers will have the chance to get in the trout magazine every month.  Ticket prices will stay the same so get up here and give it a go.

McCauley Barnett with a nice Mirror carp around 5lb from the Old Pool taken on CornCoarse Fishing
After the Old pool fishing so well for the whole of last week with anglers catching over the 100lb mark,  Michael Barnett had the best day yet on the lake catching over 200lb off peg 21 fishing the pole down the reeds and taking the odd good fish out on the island.  With the cooler weather the fish have slowed down a bit and the bag are not coming out the same, hopefully the fish will settle down again soon and anglers will be filling their nets.  A lot of the pegs have started to fish now will the planting of Lillie’s and reeds between each peg and around the island every peg has at least one feature.  A variety of baits have been working from maggots for the silver fish and bream to pellet, corn and paste for the carp.

Tight Lines and hopefully see you soon, Phil Dixon.
