The Angling Trust is delighted to announce the Sensas Team England Under 18 Squad for this year’s FIPSed World Championship on the Noord-Willems canal near Assen, Netherlands on 25th and 26th July 2014 as;

  • Matt Barnett, Liphook, Hampshire, age 17
  • Bradley Gibbons, Bracknell,Berkshire, age 16
  • Joe Kent, Wakefield, Yorkshire, age 17
  • Jacob McNeil, Rotherham, Yorkshire, age 16
  • George Organ, Highnam, Gloucestershire, age 15

Steve Sanders, Sensas Team England Manager said “The reigning World Champions are going to have their work cut out to better last years performance in France, when the England Under 18 squad produced a two day score of 10 points to win the World Championship but, with three anglers still eligible at this age group and the addition of two really good bloodworm anglers, they will be looking to retain their World title.

Jacob McNeil is the first youngster to progress from the England Talent Pathway programme to a World squad and it is hoped that Jake’s achievement will inspire more youngsters to get involved and follow in his footsteps.  For more information about the England Talent Pathway and to find out how to get involved visit www.anglingtrust.net/talentpathway

Dick Clegg, OBE, International Events Manager for the Angling Trust stated “After last years fantastic performance in France the 2014 squad will be going into this years event full of confidence and I know that manager Steve Sanders and coach Joe Roberts will make sure that this team are totally up to speed.  At this stage in their lives young anglers need to have a management team that they respect and we have no one better in England to ensure success than Steve and Joe.
