Another good week at Wellsfield for fly and bait fishers. Many anglers bagged their limits with 98% of anglers catching fish over the week. Average weight of 3lb 2oz and many fish in the 4lb – 16lb 8oz range.
Ian Craw (Tullibody) caught the largest fish of the week which was a 16lb rainbow trout, on Saturday using fly (see photos below).
Tommy Size (Edinburgh) caught a 15lb rainbow trout on Saturday, using fly.
J McKay (Riverside AC) caught a 11lb rainbow on Sunday from the bait pond.
Riverside AC caught a total of 31 fish for 111 ½ lb.
Two £50 Red Tagged trout were caught this week by R Anderson (Falkirk) from the bait pond, and I Liddle (Kilsyth) from the top fly pond.
Best flies: HH Damsel, Yellow Dancer, Black Viva, Bibio Snatcher, Diawl Bach, Epoxy Buzzers. Best Baits: Worms, Maggot, Orange Powerbait, Taz’s.
