Plenty of big fish this week at Wellsfield. Many fish in the 5lb+ category were caught. The average weight 3lb 8oz, many anglers bagged their limits using the correct flies and bait. Intermediate DI3, DI5 and DI7 lines or sink tips are now working well, fished at depth or a floater with a long leader.
The fishery is open 8am till 5pm 7 days a week.
Many troutmaster specimens were caught this week, including:
12lb rainbow by Mr Collins (Falkirk) in his 5 for 20lb.
10lb 8oz rainbow by W Martin (Stirling) in his 5 for 23lb.
9lb 2oz rainbow by Junior angler G Willis (Falkirk) in his 3 for 17lb.
One red tagged trout was caught this week by lucky angler Mr Clark (Falkirk) winning him £50. There are loads of red tagged trout (£50 prize) and white tagged trout (£500) in the lochans to be caught by lucky anglers.
Best flies this week were: Black & Green Nomad, Bloodworm, Montanas, Cormorant, Yellow Dancer. Best bait: Power Bait, Taz’s, Mepp Spinners, Worms, Maggots.
