The Christmas Fishing Competition is this Sunday 20th December. Open to all Fly and Bait Anglers. 1st PRIZE – £100 CASH + Hamper inc. Turkey, 2nd PRIZE – Hamper inc. Turkey, 3rd PRIZE – Hamper inc. Turkey. 8am Start – 4pm Finish. All Day Entry as long as £25 (8 Hr/5 Fish Permit + Tag) purchased. There is also a similar Boxing Day Competition.
The fishery is completely ICE FREE, thanks to the ICE PREVENTION WAVE MACHINES & AERATORS. All Fly and Bait Ponds are open for fishing all winter 8am till 5pm, 7 days.
ONE red tagged trout were caught at the weekend by lucky angler Mr H Betley (Coatbridge) winning him £50. There are loads of red tagged trout (£50 prize) and white tagged trout (£500) in the lochans to be caught by lucky anglers.
Best flies this week were: Green/Black Fritz Nomad, Orange Fritz, Blue Cormorant, Green Cormorant, Ace of Spades, Diawl Bach. Best bait: Power Bait, Toby’s, Mepp Spinners, Worms, Maggots.
