A £500 White Tagged 5lb Rainbow Trout was caught by very lucky angler Mr G Gemmell (Falkirk) from the top fly pond using a damsel. This trout has been in the water for over 1 year. There are still more £500 White Tagged Trout and £50 Yellow Tagged Trout in the ponds.
TWO Yellow Prize Tagged Trout were caught this week. Regular Mr L McGeroge (Glasgow) from the middle fly pond and Mr King & Son (Carronbridge) from the bait pond winning both £50.
The fishery is open from 8am till 8pm, 7 days and the evening sessions have started.
All three lochans fished very well this week with many a happy angler catching their bag limits. The average catch was 3.5 trout per angler with an average weight of 3lb. Rainbows, Blues and Browns featured.
THREE specimen trout were caught this week.
Mr I Dow (Denny) netted a superb 14lb 2oz rainbow midweek ffrom the middle fly pond.
Mr I Craw (Tullibody) landed a cracking 10lb 9oz rainbow in his 5 for 18lb from the top fly pond.
Mr Gibson (Larbert) banked a nice 9lb rainbow from the top pond in his 4 for 18lb using nymphs.
Best flies this week: Damsel nymphs, Fritzs, Buzzers, PTN, Yellow Dancer.
Best bait: White Powerbait, Maggots and Mep Spinners.
