All 3 lochans fished very well again this week. The evening sessions continue and the fishery is open from 8am till 10pm, 7 days a week. The catch returns per angler were high with an average of 3.5 fish per angler. Very few anglers left empty handed. The average trout weight was 3lb, featuring rainbows, blues and brown trout.
TWO specimen trout were caught this week: Mr McGregor (Larbert) landed a cracking rainbow weighing 13lb in his 4 for 22lb using damsel nymphs. Mr Mowatt (Alloa) landed a fine 12lb 8oz rainbow in his 4 trout for 20lb 8oz using buzzers.
ONE Yellow Prize Tagged Trout were caught this week – Mr Allison (Kirkintilloch) from the bait pond winning him £50.
Best flies this week: Bloodworm, Buzzers, PTN, CDC’s, Yellow Dancer, Diawl Bach fished on a floating line. Best bait: Powerbait, Maggots, Worms, Wasp Grubs, Mepps Spinners.
