The evening sessions continue and the fishery is open from 8am till 10pm, 7 days a week.
All three lochans are Crystal Clear with excellent water clarity. The two fly fishing ponds and the “any method” bait fishing pond fished very well again this week with many anglers bagging their catch limits. The average trout weight was 3lb with many fish in the 4lb – 6lb size range caught.
Two Yellow £50 Prize Tagged Trout were caught this week. Junior angler S McVean (Port of Mentetith) who is in the Scottish Junior Fly Fishing Squad caught a Yellow Tag mid-week winning him £50 and Mr Buchanan (Denny) also caught a tag early in the week winning him £50. There are currently 8 Yellow £50 Prize Tags and 3 White £500 Prize tags stocked.
TWO specimens were caught this week: Mr Davidson (Alloa) caught a superb 12lb rainbow from the top fly pond using damsel in his bag of 4 trout weighing 20lb and Mr Gates (Falkirk) landed a 10lb rainbow from the bait pond in his 3 for 16lb using maggots.
Best flies this week: Buzzers, Diawl Bach, Damsel, Hoppers, Dancers fished on a floating line. Best bait: Powerbait, Maggots and Silver Spinners.
