Now that the season has officially started the fishing at Wellsfield was very positive this week. The weather is much dryer and brighter and all three lochans fished very well this week with over 350 trout caught. There were some good initial hatches of flies on the sunnier days. The increased stocking program continues with Brown Trout, Blue Trout and Rainbow Trout between 3lb and 15lb.
THREE specimen trout over 7lb were caught over the easter weekend from the ponds.
Mr D Sinclair (Larbert) netted a 10lb rainbow in his bag of 3 trout for 14lb.
Mr C Cunningham (Glasgow) caught a cracking single 8lb 8oz rainbow trout.
Mr N Roberts (Bridge of Allan) landed a cracking 7lb rainbow in his 4 for 13lb 8oz.
One Yellow Prize Tagged Trout was caught this week from the fly pond by lucky angler Mr Stewart (Bonnybridge) using buzzers winning him £50.
