  1. lol no the wigs got a bad case of sea lice
  2. hi chaz did we meet at gorran haven? if so wouldnt mind commin down there again for a weekend for some of those small pollock
  3. hi try teingnmouth, fishing will be a bit poor this early in the season but you get an easy launch off the spit from the main car park with a chance of an early bass, pollock or a doggie off the ness if you dont fancy that a few of us are going out of meadfoot, between teingmouth and torquay on the 6th with the chance of wrasse, bass, whiting, dogs, pollock and a few minor species. easy launch straight from the road, free parking if you get there early enougth
  4. the only time it sits sideways into the tide is when retreiving the anchor to stop this i find stetching my foot as far forward as possible then pulling with the rope resting on the top off my foot helps keep straight in the tide
  5. if you buy the freedom angler it comes with a portable toilet in the way of the drinks bottle straped to the front
  6. try looking at this anchor trolly
  7. hi cf i use a 1.5k grapnel anchor in the channel with 2 mtrs of 6mm and of chain with 50mtrs of 3mm nylon rope holds me fine in the mid 11mtr tides i get mine from the chandlers in weston around £10 for anchor with the chain the rope was dear at £9 for 50mtrs you should be able to find it cheaper if you shop around
  8. hello turbo i fish the channel from clevedon. not a venue for the novice get a few trips under your belt before you even try it very strong tides look at last post bristol channel
  9. hi chris tides are around 12 midday from today every fortnight sorry too hear your not coming gilbo was looking forward too meeting up again, how about that meadfoot jaunt?? no chance of seeing you in the channel then for the thornbacks?
  10. best stick too the neap tides i thinks bring on the cod
  11. hi rob nice too hear from you again, are you still fishing tuesdays or is the yak covered in cobwebs in the shed? tried meadfoot back in march didnt get much so you'll have to show me how its done
  12. hi mike the mark is about 10ft deep at low tide the rag beds are uncovered on the spring tides and strech 50 to 100 yrds out, i was downtiding just off the beds between black rock and wains hill west of the pier near the big aerial masts the tide was flying past me 3 hours after top and that was a neap tide dont think i'll try the springs just yet get a few more trips under my belt
  13. some more pics sorry there late marks pollock dark doggie chris checking he has his money for coffee dave great weekend thanks lads cya at ilfracombe
  14. after a year on the yak fishing devons water decided it was time to brave the fast currents of the bristol channel 10 minuits from home in clevedon. so picked a small 10meter tide on sunday, with easterly winds the water was like a millpond. launched on the slipway under the pier at 4am then set off to wains hill a spot i'd always done well at shore fishing in winter for cod, not deep water but sits on a rag bed so naturaly attracts fish. arrived at the spot and let the anchor go let out plenty of rope and tried to hold bottom, felt the anchor tripping out so let out more rope till all 50ft was out and i was holding, i tried anchoring off at the stern but the yak was sitting side on in the tide and water was flying past at a good rate of knots so tied of at the bow and sat nicely in the tide race. decided to use some frozen sandeel from the gorran haven trip as the rays are everywhere and after 20 minuits had a little 5lb thornback next was a little strap conger around the 4-5lb mark then finished on another very small strap at 2lb then the tide turned and i fished 2 hours up from low water without a bite by now the tide was touching the slip again so headed in. not the best day fish wise but look out cod in the winter. ps sorry about the pic sizes all new to me
  15. i would'nt give £35 for that looks cheap and nasty better off buying a inflatable dingy from the beach shop probably last longer
