  1. Great review, i have been thinking about getting a sail for for odd occasion and this one might be the answer. Thanks for the time and effort.
  2. Don't know if it is of any help but i got my Tarpon 160i from them and i have been very pleased with it. It's a good looking boat (looks great on the car with my surfboard ) and very fast. Tank well has ample space, i have managed to fit a fish finder on with no problem. Anchor fixing was hard due to the position of the carry handles. Bit difficult to use the factory fitted rod holder to the front when paddling as it seems to be in the way whichever position i try. Would i buy the same again - yes. My mate has a Ocean Prowler which i have tried and it was a harder paddle but a bit more stable when fishing.
  3. Hi Chaz, Good to hear from you. Could do South Cornwall, bit more of a drive but not to bad if we go over the moor to Plymouth. Can you join us Chaz? Nigel
  4. Can anyone in South Devon give me any good launch sites. There are two of us thinking traveling from the North of the county to try the South coast. Also what the best target species would be in that area. Thanks
  5. Hi Dave If you ever fancy meeting up there are a few of us here in North Devon. Nigel
  6. Hi Mark Great report as always. I own a home for adults with a learning disability and in May we are coming to the broads for a weeks holiday. They love fishing as I take them locally (N.Devon). What sort of fishing is available in May month? Do you need a license? We will be on one of the hire boats. Cheers Nigel
  7. Hi Cannonfodder Next time you are in Barnstaple call into Casey's store on Rolle Quay. They have a good selection of ropes and anchors. Also a good selection of other items that are useful for Yak fishing. Nigel.
  8. Hi all I am busy tiding up a few items on my kayak and thought I would do a bit of research on the internet. I have not seen any links to these videos on this Forum, so just in case you have not seen them here is one link: Happy rigging, Nigel.
  9. Does anyone us a Telescopic Rod? I am looking into getting a new spinning rod and wondered if anyone had tried a telescopic. They all seem cheep to buy, are they cheep for a reason? They idea of a telescopic seems a good one for a kayak, especially if you need to paddle back to shore through some swell. Just pack it up and put it out of harms way. Be good to know of anyones experiences. Nigel
  10. And merry Christmas to you from Barnstaple. The weather has be atrocious. Nothing to report on the fishing front, keeping busy with rigs and writing letters to Santa.
  11. Hi, I have at last bought a fish finder and have read through the past post on fitting but can not find any info on the best way to get the cable through the kayak to the battery and transducer. Has anyone got any good water tight solutions? Thanks
  12. Hi Chaz Good to hear you are getting out a bit. A friend caught a 6.5lb Bass last week in the Estuary, we need to get together to have a go. As for the feet, they are the first part of my body to get cold. I am OK when i have my dry suit on with a thick pair of socks and boots on top!!!! I guess it is the lack of exercises and therefore lack of blood they a getting compared to the rest of the body. Some gentle exercising whilst paddling / fishing helps. Hope to meet up soon Nigel
  13. Hi Adam I have not fished there this time of year but went out once in the summer, did not have any luck. Easy paddle with not to many currents. However i went all the way to the point and it is very different there as the tides and currents meet making it look like the water is boiling even on a quite day. The area is popular with Anglers and i know people spear fish all along that area of rock. Where to you intend to launch from? If the surf is i don't know of any suitable launch sites. May-be Barricane and mid to high tide? Would love to come out with you but i am working this weekend and organizing the Fire works at Chivenor.
