  1. so are they rod holder mounts. ie. the actual rod "holder" is clicked into the bits you are selling? If thats the case i'll have a couple in black, pm me you address and what you want for em and i'll sort it
  2. Mate, thats the kind of stuff that sorts the anglers from the danglers!!! Not wishing to diss your monumental achievements, i cant see it working for mackeral, before i went to uni years ago, i did some work at sea life centres and mackeral were bloody impossible to keep alive even in a huge big tank, becasue of the fact that they are scombrids (like Tuna) they tend to just snuff it when not swimming (to do with the type of muscle tissue they have) but my god what a tank, what a tank!!
  3. I'm just about to commit to coming when the missis informs me that we have dinner at some friends to do on saturday . B*llocks! really wanted to come along. Tight lines guys if anything changes ill be in touch.. jon
  4. God dammit, thats right on my dorstep, problem is, i just dont have the kit to do a night session yet (no anchor, no drysuit, no rod rests, no fish finder and no GPS.) still christmas is coming!!!, maybe next year guys, tight lines though, ive done some dinghy fishing in balaclava bay and hauled all day.
  5. I just new i shouldnt have opened this thread whilst i was having my dinner
  6. Doh, guessed as much, never see ray like that down this way!!
  7. Was that poole haven mate, I was shore fishing there on saturday and sunday morning with the fly rod, i had 26 bass and a bunch of chunky pollack, when the tide was running it looked a bit hairy to be yakking!!!!!!
  8. How jealous am i Ive fished those shores from for the last 15 years but never from a boat. I am sooooooooo keen to get out in my prowler, but just cant ever find the time.. Shout nect time any of you are going out that way, if you dont mind a newbie joining you, PS is the anchor trolly on anglers afloat the best one anyones found, or is there a better way to do it. Only its a winter project that has to be done ASAP
  9. Sure Zzippy I thought that it was the recognized abbreviation for the Ocean Kayak Prowler 13 ANGLER. I should also mention that other makes and models of kayaks are available
  10. Sweet Nelly Furtado That was the best laugh ive had in ages. Jeez, does it really matter we all mention makes and models all the bloody time on here, God, most of us have what boat we own on our signatures. Is it going to get like the party political broadcasts on TV........ I own an Ocean Kayak Prowler 13a, but i would like to mention that other makes of Kayaks are available...................................
  11. I have a spare one mate that i got with my replacement prowler Make me an offer and its yours
  12. I checked out the cobra range in great detail and whilst they are well built, i found that th eprice quoted of 475 spiralled out of control when you put on all the things you needed, like hatches, seat, paddle etc, i didnt like the hatches either. Although they were very secure and dry, they are fiddly and time consumiing to open or close. The marauder is, i believe a heavy boat too. Some of the dealers i spoke to said they no longer stock them as the ocean and wilderness systems boats are sooooooo much better. That said, Paul at cobra (or extreme products as i think they are called) couldnt have been more helpful. I'm a 6'4 16 stone oaf and i can fly fish very comfortably from it, front on or side saddle
  13. http://www.aquamedia.org/fishlink/director...=66&id=1484 Zippwax from collins nets, west bay dorset, its only a couple of quid
  14. Stevo I have a mate that might take her, i'l get hold of him ASAP
  15. Hey Speciman, whats with the Latex Gloves
  16. Yup, right up in the north side, its probably the quickest route out to the breakwater from here, and some nice reefs on the way
  17. Thats a bitchin' Huss mate a big WELL DONE you should be stoked!
  18. So Anyone got any good tips for taking photographs of your catch whilst on board yer vessel. The "laying it on your lap" method seems to be the only way, or of course, the "dangling it in front of you at arms length" method. I was thinking of mounting one of those rod rest top things that screws into the bottom of the camera and then sticking over by the rod rest/gps/fishfinder blanked off area at the front of the boat an then pressing the self timer bit. All sounds a bit complicated though Any thoughs chaps?
  19. managed to get out from this new launch site into Portland Harbour for an hours fishing on friday, Free parking, slipway and only a 2 minute haul to the water. There are four parralel reefs that run out from the shore and as it was getting on fro low water, i was able to drift between them fishing with a small surface lure. Had literally dozens of swirls at the popper, hooked three and landed these two Its a cracking place to launch but its not for you deepwater lovers. I could have fished all of it in waders, not as much fun though!!!!
  20. Love to, but i just cant get my head round this night time fishing mullarkey!!!!!, maybe when i get a bit more suitable gear, i.e a drysuit!!
  21. My dunkings have always been during launch and landing and yes, always when the beach or slipway is packed full of holidaymakers
  22. http://www.anglersnet.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=68016 have a look at this (not very helpful) thread to see the many other costs involved with buying a yak! I have a prowler and cant reccomend it enough, but i wouldnt want anyone else on it with me. I dare say its stable enough if your lad sits VERY VERY still, why not check out the malibu 2 here http://www.anglersafloat.co.uk/KayakMalibu.html I'm sure there will be lots more answers to your question to follow and good luck! Jon
  23. Blimey, i always store my keys and phoen in the hatch between my knees and i never saw any water in there, but thanks for the heads up. As for the front hatch, th eonly time i could see any real breach was when i launched in some quite tasty surf. Because the prowler is a narrow boat, (not a narrowboat i hasten to add), it tends to cut through the waves rather than ride over all of them. Gotta go check my phone and keys now
