Well , pardon me and the millions of others for having an opinion. I'll read my news from the "experts" (huh) who know better than everyone else , who so avidly put their point across on here and will not be dissuaded one iota from their own beliefs. :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

And Foxhunting IS then? 50+ people , overweight pen-pushers on their days off decide to mount a horse , close / detour some roads , enlist the help of 100???? hounds and embark on the epic journey across the countryside , running a fox (pretty much to death) as sport. If the humble fox is that much of a problem , why not have a designated team of fox-hunters to track down the "pests" and put a bullet straight through its head? No , 2 bit jumped up "10 bob millionaires" decide that it is right to run a tiny fox into the ground for nigh on 20 miles?? and then do as they please with it when caught. WHERE IS THE SPORT IN THAT!!!!!!!!!!?????

John Brennan / Challenge would probably be able to fill you in better Barry. I've often thought of giving one a go , but seeing as the ling won't go back down due to the swim bladder and the fact that i hate filleting the things , it wouldn't be fair on the fish being caught simply for the sake of catching it. I've heard , but no idea if it's correct or not , that the monsters are the "blue ling" and they congregate off the scottish coast.

Is it just me being so shallow? What's the problem with the show? It depicts the hard times that the north sea and the industry of trawling have to offer. Surely we are not that shallow to believe that dumping of unwanted fish never happens? It happens , get on with it. We don't live in a perfect world (yet) but the powers that be are having a very good go at it , so , fingers crossed , it shouldn't be too long.

Thanks very much Barry. The long range forecasts are up and down at the moment , and i can't seem to get a realistic idea yet if we're gonna be fishing. I'll wait for the countryfile forecast on sunday morning (it's not accurate, not by a long shot , but it usually gives a ball park idea of the coming weeks weather)

Any chance of a link via pm or up on here mate??? I for one would be interested in reading it as i'm out fishing on a 60 hour trip next friday 14th september. Tight lines.

All i can say is that you had a bad trip. Throughout the very short time i have got to know John Brennan and George , what i can definately say is this........... the pair of them work their socks off to get you fish , and George maybe even more so . With George having a little less knowledge of John (but still a very good skipper) of the boat in question George (IMO) is trying his absolute best to provide the anglers with what they want. As for Eddy............well all i can say is ditto. In all the trips i've had with the new owners this year EVERY SINGLE TRIP has been most enjoyable , with fish (COD) jumping aboard. The only downside (if you can call it that ) is.........on one trip when the boat was a crewman down , John Brennan took the helm of the boat and George filleted for us. Subsequently , the fishing was AGAIN fantastic (as it always is) , but George was overwhelmed with fish to fillet , so i got the knife out / broke off from fishing and got stuck into the filleting for 20 mins here , 30 mins there. But i didn't mind (it was a welcomed break from pulling all the fish up) Just my honest humble opinion. Carl, aka............Mr Motorola

Steve , i would like to wish little Amity all the very best for the operation , but as has already been said, little toddlers are very resilient and have the rest of their lives to recuperate. I know its hard to do , but , try not to dwell on it mate , she'll need all the smiley faces and support in the world when she comes out of the op' , so make sure you have plenty. Carl.

I'm with you on this one John. Why is it not allowed to have "white only" music awards? Or would that be seen as "out of order" and possibly stem into protests?Surely they are segregating themselves doing such an award.

What about locking the little b@st@rds up? What is the current age for being held at her majestys pleasure........18? Why not lower the age to 14? Before you all start beating me up with my adverse views...........lets think about it. A 15 year old does the crime (whatever...mugging / stabbing ....whatever) and in todays environment he/she is automatically assured of not going to jail , right? Maybe sent to a young offenders institute i grant you. Could it actually work? In that a young "chav" is sent down for doing the crime. Is it that most if not all young kids enjoy their freedom more than anything? Will it work?
