  1. Looking for a pair of these. Email me completeangler@sky.com
  2. I have an as new, still with box and paperwork Daiwa Megaforce 100TSHL Left Hand wind baitcasting Multiplier for £45 posted email me on; completeangler@sky.com
  3. Anyone got one of these classic reels in usable condition that they'd like to sell?I've been after one for ages. The 146 is the narrow version and quite rare in the U.K email me ;completeangler@sky.com Thanks Jeff
  4. I've had an Okuma Aventa 1002 for several years now-in fact I think i bought it when they first appeared on the market in this country. It gets used for mullet fishing and has been subjected to mud and saltwater and being accidentally dropped on rocks etc. It's got a few scratches but,it runs just as good ,if not better ,than when it was new-probably because the bearings have bedded in.I do wash it thoroughly in freshwater and add a drop of thin oil after EVERY trip. I can also recommend a Trudex-an ebay find that has also proved to be a robust and smoothly operationg pin. Both these reels will get spinning with the lightest of floats when trotting. A mate has just purchased a Berwick and it does look and feel like a very competent reel but, it does appear to be a bit more delicate than the above. Hope this helps.
  5. All very interesting and shows that you don't need to spend a lot of money to get started.Watatoad-thanks for your P.M. I wish there had been something like this around when i started out in the early 70's.I remember having to save pocket money for weeks to buy a half decent reel - a Mitchell 324. I'm gonna take the plunge and shell out on one of their beach tripods simply -£16 including delivery-huge risk though
  6. I'm amazed at the prices of their products and perhaps a little cynical and thinking that their stuff is not a lot of good.Has anyone on here had any experience of it.At these sorts of prices they'd be ideal for someone starting out or for a youngster.
  7. Thanks Budgie, that's it-spiral wrap I thought i'd seen it somewhere. But I'm still convinced that I've seen someone using a tiny multiplier with some fairly heavy trotting floats say 4AAAplus.Looking at these reels closely,it appears that their tiny spools need LESS inertia to get going than my okuma or trudex pins.Think i might give it a try.The advantage to me personally might be one of comfort. For some reason i tend to suffer from numb or tingling fingers on the hand that i use to control the pin after a while.First impressions with the little multiplier are that it fits nicely in my rod hand with spool tension being controlled by the thumb.I'll let you know how i get on.
  8. I'm a great fan of trotting with centrepin reels but I'm about to buy my first small baitcaster multiplier and wonder if anyone on here has ever tried trotting with one of these miniature marvels?I'm convinced that i've read about it being done somewhere on the net,and I think Its use involved some offset rod rings, allowing the reel to be fished on top of the rod,but the line to end up below the blank in the conventional manner.Anybody know anything about this-or am I just dreaming? Seems like quite a good alternative use for these reels.
  9. Dave, Take a close look at the Korum chairs-i've found them to be very good.I don't think they've skimped on materials and construction and favoured the attachments. They seem to be very well built for the money. One thing i do like about them in particular,is that they can be adjusted to sit quite high off the ground and are very stable.I don't have any mobility issues, but i'm 6'4" tall and find that a taller chair is far easier to 'escape' from.Combining the seat with their rucbag package and you've got a really easy bit of gear to carry around.Hope this helps. Jeff
  10. I've recently bought a Korum brolly.Very impressed.Good value and not that heavy to carry.
  11. Steve, Would love to be considered for a place at the fish-in.It'll be hard, but i'll have to drag myself away from my local mullet fishing............unless of course, you've got some stocked in your lakes!! I promise to bring along and use my fledgerlite rod!!
  12. Best bit of that story was that the fish was returned unharmed.Brilliant stuff!
  13. I'm genuinely gutted!I've got four of his alarms and they're the dog's wotnots!! .From now on i'm gonna treat them with the utmost respect-good clean after every trip, nice little over night dry in the airing cupboard and then tuck em away in a cozy warm ,padded box in a safe!! Jeff if you read this mate-good luck with your retirement!
