  1. Thanks Graeme I've bookmarked that site, I'm sure it will be useful to refer to.
  2. lol, no I won't boil up any grockles, they probably won't be tasty anyway elephant eggs? I thought elephants were mammals
  3. Lovely photos, look forward to seeing some more
  4. Well done, it's a great photo
  5. I intend to try them! I'm originally from South Africa where cockles are not commonly eaten as seafood.
  6. Thanks Dan and Judy Medway, here are some other photos I took. Not sure if it shows what you're looking for. I'm not sure about the cockles, do you mean for collecting yourself (are you allowed to?) or for buying? Embarrased to say I've never eaten cockles so I'm not sure.
  7. We spent the afternoon at Climping Beach in West Sussex. The tide was out which meant great fun for the kids (and us!). Thought I'd share some photos of the pretty coloured creatures we found :-)
  8. That's a really sad story to read, I feel sorry for the man's friend who must have felt so helpless not being able to help. I have a very healthy respect for water after having seen how powerful it can be. Tigger that's a good suggestion. We'll be fishing on the beaches with our two children who are not yet able to swim well, I'll probably make sure they always have a life jacket on incase they venture into trouble, probably being a paranoid mum but I'd rather be safe than sorry.
  9. I would be interested in having a recipe section on the forum, I have every intention of eating what I catch from the sea. Being new to the forum I've been browsing through the different sections and was surprised that there is no cooking section. I think one long thread within the sea fishing section would make finding recipes difficult.
  10. Thanks Norm we'll see if we can get to visit the one in Worthing some time this weekend.
  11. I have a nice avatar for you Rabbit
  12. Can anyone recommend a fishing shop near the worthing/littlehampton area on the sussex coast? We'd like to visit one to get some advice on fishing in the area and also to set ourselves up with the necessary kit to start with shore fishing. Also, if you can offer any advice here online to a newbie it will be welcomed.
  13. Really nice photos Nice pickup too, I want one of those!
  14. Those are handy, thanks for the links
