  1. Listening to a chat show on the radio and it was said they ONLY get £390 a week for doing 8 hours a day, 5 days! I emailed in to say I get £375 a week for 5 TEN hour days driving human beings in a coach, now whose job would appear to be more responsible............putting letters in a box or transporting up to 53 lives around? So when that important letter I'm waiting for takes a week to arrive I'll be thinking of the 2 hours a day less they do and the extra £15 a week they get...........................GRRRRRRRRR! Now I'm quite happy in my job and don't really think about the money until people who appear to do less than me for more start complaining.
  2. Jeez, I let one off in the car earlier and if that didn't make me swerve all over the the road I don't know what would! Does that mean I'd get done for "driving without due care and arsetension"!! To me the biggest distraction is watching my speedo like a hawk so I don't get done for speeding. Likewise I also have to watch out for people on the A3 who are doing 50mph and suddenly slow down to 40 when they see a speed camera on the 50mph section! The only people I see driving without care are usually mobile phone or satnav users, lorry drivers most of the time, although I followed some dick in a car the other day on the M25 who couldn't stay between the lines and maintain a steady speed. Very frustrating when the vehicle I'm in isn't allowed in the outside lane. When he eventually realised a 13ton coach was about to go up his arse and moved over I saw he was texting. A little while up the road he overtook me again, still with phone in hand and started swerving, speeding up and down again............still texting. Now if smoking a ciggy is comparable to this then spank my arse and call me Betty. So I guess changing the radio channel or adjusting the heater is out of order too! Picking my nose? When is it going to end? Non-smoker by the way, but a full time driver and at the mercy of all this legislative bullshit every day!
  3. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/mor...icle2461339.ece His agent has said it WAS him! Very shocked!
  4. Lets just look at this again before we slag off Mr M too much...................if someone starts to make "hand gestures" at drivers because they wont move over how do you expect someone to react, many a time I've seen bikers behind me and moved over a little for them to give me a wave of thanks, now that's the way to get a bit of cooperation. In reality though Mr.M you should have just taken his number and reported him, I know the red mist comes down sometimes but that's the better way to go. I've had bikers doing stupid stuff around me though, I was driving my coach down the A3 and pulled into the outside lane to overtake a lorry. There was nobody in sight but a biker who must have been a long way back pulled up to me. Now I can see him in my INSIDE mirror! So as I was clearing the front of the lorry I indicated left to make it clear to him that I was about to move over, so what does he do..............yup, you guessed it just as I swept into the inside lane he UNDERTOOK me!! Now I'm not anti bike at all, after all I've had many from CBRs to BMWs but we've got to help ourselves a bit somewhere along the line. I think maybe the biker Mr M had his problem with would have had a little more help if he'd waved a thank you to anyone who did move over and if they didn't well that's his problem, he just has to hold back until the road ahead is clear.
  5. Wasn't there a Harley rally there this w/e? I live just down the road and there was a massive presence on the road. Blimey think of all the destinations they would be heading to. Also I was supposed to be taking a coach load to Highgrove on Thursday but due to the group coming from within 30 miles of the outbreak they cancelled them! Scary stuff
  6. Yup ditto to the above.........not driving and staying with a friend in West London not far from the Fullers brewery so very, very pish on London Pride......hic!
  7. It seems that the commentators initially blamed Shittu for bad runs! One of the Watford fans had a go at him. So Shittu hit the fan! Then it turned out Shittu was cleared by Foster! Robinson later went into the Watford dressing room to tell Foster an easily got joke but it went over his head! I'll get me coat..........
  8. Did I enjoy it? Do bears poo in the woods? Does the pope wear a pointy hat? Oh yes! One of the producers (I think) did a Q&A before filming started and said there will definitely be another series this year, possibly a bit later than thought. I know James has some other filming commitments so I imagine that might be something to do with any delay. As to being a lucky sod.........oh yes. My friend works for the Beeb and having had an interview for the TG website she was put on the guest list + 1. 1st person she thinks of is me being a fan. Sunday nights tend to be round her house with a takeaway and TG for entertainment. The banter between the guys is non stop, their mikes are open most of the time and it's just like listening to a comedy show. Spent most of the night laughing my fat ass off!
  9. Got on the guest list for the above recording to be shown on Friday Beeb2 at 10pm for Red Nose Day. My god what a riot! The guys were mental as usual, the banter in between takes is the same but even more unPC than on film, especially Clarkson. Travis,Supergrass(excellent), McFly and an all-star finale with Justin Hawkins on vocals, May keys,Hammond bass and Jezza on drums. Total cock up but wouldn't have expected anything less. My fat self in front of the cool wall......bit blurry! Band after assaulting our eardrums...bit blurry again, crap camera!
  10. Seasons in the Sun.......Terry Jacks..............euugh!
  11. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/6344725.stm All a bit Marylyn Monroe! Probably predictable really but sad.
  12. Ah it's ok, apparently it only affects small cocks............ You ok Elton?
  13. Ah you may mock but apart from the 1st day blues setting it up we've had no problems..................until, we had a new chap move in, buy a laptop and proceeded to overwrite all the router settings. Instead of logging on to the network he started his own but didnt know what he had done. The landlord had said to him to wait until I had got back from a party as I had done the original set up but he couldn't wait.Still we used his moby to phone them up so its gonna cost him in the end! I suppose I call them Aohell out of habit from past experience but as the landlord ordered it I didn't have much choice. I'm going away for the weekend so I'm expecting to get back Sunday to all sorts of turmoil with this new bloke!
  14. I'm getting a bit bored with Joanna Lumley (I think its her) welcoming me to aohell and telling me I have email etc, is there a way to change the vocal at all? I know how to switch it off but want to put Homer Simpson or something like that on instead!
  15. Cheers for the advice, will probably go for the inverter so i can plug other electrics in to it like a vac cleaner etc. Already got the dropper so Maplins here I come.
  16. I drive a coach and have cigarette lighter in the dash that is converted to 12v from 24v. I can then plug in phone charger/satnav etc but I am thinking of getting a 240v inverter to run my laptop in those boring sat in (insert town name) for hours moments. I wanted to know if there were any issues I had to look out for. Needless to say I would have to run the engine to save the battery's but this is not a problem but are there any power spike issues or anything like this.
  17. The James Whale show tonight (Thursday) is a tribute to Mike. Agreed he was not to everyone's taste but I always found him entertaining on those nights of insomnia. He actually did his show from his studio at home and was described by Whale as the original grumpy old man! RIP

  19. Having had my original post closed for over use of the word pedunkle I'll first say having looked in to the origins and meanings of the word I apologise for any offence caused and have edited my post as below. Secondly,I still think it's a classic piece of advertising though! Just seen a tv advert for Morrisons, the supermarket famous for its pies and for revitalising the career of Sean "voiceover" Bean (lets be honest he's a s*** actor so it's about his limit) ! It's also good for BOGOFS..........buy one get one frees to all you out there, but now instead of going in and thinking I'll get a BOGOF and then thinking no actually I'll get another one as well as it's a good deal, they are offering........wait for it....... BUY TWO GET TWO FREE. WOOHOO! clap2.gif ......... no more going in and getting one and then another one free and getting another one and getting another one free when I can buy two and get two free. I'm sure somewhere along the line I'm better off. thumbs.gif http://www.morrisons.co.uk/ for the latest deal in chocolate fingers! Now I must be off to check how my shares in DeLorean are coming along! PS, please don't reply using the "p" word!

  21. Sad news indeed, and don't forget we lost Tommy Vance not long ago too, these guys really championed rock in their own ways for years. Friday and Saturday nights in the 70s were a real rockfest. Adios pop picker!
