  1. lol ive seen some nice sized fish in that little bit below that floating weed lol Bream and a nice pike lol Catch anything? Is that the wooden fence with the middle bit of wood taken out?
  2. I went for a quick walk doen there today after a quiet few hours at work and have actually found one sign saying private no fishing. It was on a wall on the small shallow stretch of the ember near where some flats are at Orchard lane. I think that one though is only the small bit there cos its directly outside these peoples windows. Gonna check esher tomorrow if its quiet again Lol.
  3. Awsome write up and pics, as well as obvious good angling. Well Done Nice to see someone is having luck during these cold times, this is the worst winter for me yet Lol.
  4. To be honest im not 100% sure but ive been fishing there quite regularly for the last 10-12 years and nobody has ever told me otherwise Lol. And we have had loads of anglers asking how its going etc. Ive never noticed any signs, where abouts are they? Im the type of person that if there is a sign i wont break the rules and fish there, if there is one then i guess im lucky i aint ever seen it, had some good fish there Lmao. I know part of the Relief channel is owned by an organisation like that, but that is at one of the weirs Behind the ember court police sports ground place. As for the wilderness i know with the fences alot of them have been broken down, but its been like that longer than ive been fishing there, never known any different, and loads of people fish there all year round, never heard of any problems. Wow im gonna def look into that. Think i might have to go to specsavers too Lmao.
  5. I live very close to both the thames and the mole. I rarely fish the thames so i prob cant help there but when it comes to the mole i fish it regularly, once a week during winter on weekends and during the summer will prob fish it most days when i dont have a chance to travel round a bit. Ive had some very good sessions on the mole in a fair few different spots for the chub including Including one fish just short of 6lbs and a capture of 5 over 3 1/3lb in an hour as well as many other chub (excellent river if thats what ur after). The spots id recommend are prob: Free Spots : Hersham, across West end Lane Park - Lots Of Snags, lovely overhanging trees, different flows and depths Lots of large fish although Like the majority of the Mole Full of Pike. Esher, Mill road - Above Weir Pool, deep water with plenty of overhanging trees and weeds and lillies. Below weir runs into shallow fast flowing stretch with deep pools here and there which eventually runs into a seperate large deep relief channel which has plenty of big fish in it. Molsey anywhere between molsey heath approach road and the wilderness - Approach road end quite deep sections lots of reeds and overhangs. Wilderness has weirpool running into another shallow flowing section with occasional deep pools and gullys with overhangs and weeds etc. also has Large relief channel like in esher which my friend and I have had some big fish, including Low double figured barbel, Bream, Tench, Chub (ive seen caught over 6lb) , Big Pike and Even occasional Carp. Also has another Small river in the area that i believe is the Ember, during summer u can see many nice sized chub. Loads of places to explore, lots to fish. Hampton Court, Where mole enters Thames (park behind Hampton court train station), just across thames from Hampton Court Palace - I dont fish this stretch much, but from people ive spoken to down there, there has been a fair few big fish pulled out there including Large Chub, Pike, Carp and Bream. Club Stretches & Ticket Stretches: Sadly i dont know a hell of alot about these places, but have visited a few times and seen a fair few people fishing them and even catching Chub and Pike. Cobham Mill, Opposite Old bear pub at end of the Cobham high street. Lovely looking area with plenty of cover for the fish, lots of nice spots to sit for the day, Clean tidy and pretty area. Leatherhead, Again like most of mole full of overhangs weeds and quite peaceful spots. Hope that helps a bit lol their just the areas I fish and have visited, def a brilliant river to fish.
  6. I think the thing im looking forward to the most would def have to be, getting some proper early summer stalking in. Seeing the chub in the shallow rivers under the bushes, stalking carp round me favourite gravel pit and somthing else i also find quite fun is surface fishing for roach down at a local pond i know that is teaming with large roach averaging bout 1/2lb with an occasional 1lb - 1 1/2lb er and my Pb of 2lb 3oz. U cant beat it when u can see the fish and its all about stealth and patience, i can sit there without a rod for hours just watching the fish, Love it!!
  7. I think id have to say the Arapaima. I remember watching it on jungle hooks, looked mental, bit of the scenary in me local area would be nice too Lol.
  8. Wow I want one. The only downside to it is i could imagine myself at certain points messing round with it more than actually doing any fishing, then id never complete my 09 Goals Lol
  9. I remember mine like it was yesterday lol Sunbury lane, River Thames, summer and a bleak caught on single white maggot Lol I was bout 4-5 years old, i dont think i set up though Lol and i doubt my dad was gonna let me mess around with hooks at that age so i guess i didnt bait it myself, but i def casted it and struck into the fish, Would that count? Or are we talking bout me setting up too? if we're talking me having to do everything then that would prob be a gudgeon, again down on the thames bout mile from where me 1st fish was caught.
  10. When i was younger my grandad showed me how to make a lure out of a teaspoon and to be honest ive caught just as many fish on that than any of the ones u get in the tackle shop lol. Im never gonna forget the 1st time i used it while with one of me mates, he laughed his head off, wasnt laughing when it caught the 1st and biggest fish of the day Lol. U def dont need to spend a fortune on ready made lures when u can make ur own that are just as good.
  11. Reminds me of the 14lb Roach i had in kingston, must be somthing to do with the water I highly doubt this one, if he does cough up photos though id def eat my words and never laugh at things like this again Lol! I do know parts of the thames up by kingston have produced some pretty big fish including some big carp, but nothing as ridiculous as this!
  12. Merry christmas everyone hope uve all had a good one and dont drink too much u still got the new year to come yet Take care all
  13. Hi all i was sitting down bout 3 weeks ago with a mate making few rigs and getting a few tackle boxes sorted out, while sitting there me mate came up with an awsome idea of writing down 10 goals each for 2009 and making sure no matter what we both complete all 20 goals no matter what it takes. Anyway i thought id rather not make the goals easy cos it would be no fun when their all done by febuary, so ive really thought bout these and think ive finally came up with what i wanna do. 1. my 1st 30lb + Carp (Current pb 24lb) 2. my 1st Grass Carp 3. Another 4lb + Perch (current pb 4lb 2oz) 4. A 20lb + Pike (current pb 12lb) 5. A 12lb + Barbel (current pb 10lb 8oz) 6. my 1st Catfish 7. my 1st Zander 8. Double figured tench (current pb 8lb 6oz) 9. Actually find some stickleback and catch them (aint done for years lol) 10. Just overall make sure i have a good season and enjoy myself whether i complete my goals or not. Sadly I havent seen me mates goals yet, hopefully some will be the same, cos these 10 will be hard enough, but i may post them up when i do know. I was just wondering if anyone else is as sad as i am, and has made goals for 2009, What do u wanna achieve with the new year?
  14. Congratulations Awsome looking fish and nice to see an angler smile, them people who try look serious make me laugh Lol. If i caught a huge fish i wouldnt be able to keep the smile off my face Lmao. Well done and happy birthday.

    Hi Everyone

Hey boldbear yeah i think thats what i love the fact u can never know it all. Its like one huge adventure where u can learn new stuff all the time if u r willing to listen to others and try new things u wouldnt normally try. I Live in Surrey, not actually too far from wraysbury, its bout 20 min drive away. Currently im fishing a local gravel pit that holds very big fish of the species that are there, For example. 45lb + Carp (no imports, all british) 25lb + Pike 12lb + Bream 4lb + Perch 2 1/2lb + Roach Oh and back in 2001 it held the brittish Tench record, which has since been beaten i believe. The only downside the the place is its very very hard! But i love a challenge. I also Fish few of the local rivers. Thames Mole Ember Colne (not sure on spelling) Wey How bout urself?
  16. I think the last thing i bought was 2 Fox MMXR Bit alarms which was quite a while ago, unless u counting the small things like packs of hooks and line. Oh and i bought one of them Penrod extreme things off of the net just to see what their about, Good little rod really concidering it folds up big enough to go in ur pocket lol, no good for big big fish though pull in a 8-10lb fish but nothing bigger.

    Hi Everyone

Hi all My names mark and i just thought id come on and say hi. Im 23 years old and have been fishing since i was bout 4 and seriously since bout 12 but realise compared to alot of people i still dont know everything and even though i take it very seriously and read up on everything i can, i hope i can still learn alot more from here, i tend to go every weekend and any day i get off so hopefully i can show u all a few photos here and there. I used to concerntrate on Carp fishing but decided i prefer a big mixture of fish so have got back into overall course fishing hoping to catch a few large fish of each species, so i guess in a way id call myself a specimen hunter, ive already got goals written up for next year fishing and maybe ill post them at a later date and keep updated on my progress. Hope i will be able to share any experiences, and help where i can. Hopefully Speak soon
