  1. Just bought mine Elton, nice move. I ordered one, second hand from Angling Lines but lucky enough they were out of stock.Yippeeeeeee One mans water is another mans wine. Sorry Neal
  2. I recommend stop messing the kitchen up fling your rice powder and stuff in the bin and let the experts supply you with a 50/50 mix ready rolled with tutti frutti flavour .For the sake of a couple of extra quid you can sit behind your rods knowing full well that they are consistent carp catchers ..Nutrabaits,Richworth all do basic mixes that are known to catch. If money is tight, forget everything i have just said ,there is a website http://www.boilie.co.uk that has recipes on it i think.
  3. Stainless????? It would be cheaper to but one wouldn,t it???
  4. I went to a pastie water (20 runs a day type water) and took a tub of sweetcorn,my usual NRG and some of the Snatch red mentioned. At the end of the day session i had zilch  (not even a line bite to show they were anywhere near the bait) 7 fish to NRG ,a couple to plastic pop up sweetcorn and one off the top on mixer. I sprinkled some Snatch on a clear marginal shelf which is perfect for gauging reactions to baits, along with some NRG and the rest of the sweetcorn and packed up . I came for a walk around the next day and lo and behold the Snatch was STILL THERE UNTOUCHED with everything else picked clean. I have to admit i have only caught from one other pastie water on it and that one is the easiest hungriest water on the planet probably. If you can afford to pay for a bait that is hit nor miss, go for it,i choose not to play Russian Roulette with my bait anymore, and stick with what catches day in ,day out.I spend a lot of money on quality tackle,i am not going to sit behind rods with a duff bait on for the sake of a couple of quid. CATFISH
  5. It would be a great help if we had a rough idea how much you can spend? I have read on another forum that the complete set up from Badger is great value for money and quite a quality product for the price too for first timers.Check it out http://www.badgerclassics.com
  6. Be a man and spend what you want. Just kidding
  7. The facts are they are used by some of this countrys(and probably other countries)best carp anglers,Terry Hearn to name one. Like i said there a no-nonsesnse alarm that do what there supposed to do,more importantly, when there supposed to do it. I have a few mates who have Delkims and other volume and tone equipped alarms and they havent changed the tone since they got them. Whats the point in paying for items that only get used/changed when your bored and fancy hearing something different?????? Each to there own though
  8. Get yourself three of the original Stevie Nevilles(plastic cases) they are super reliable, cheap and loud, there is no volume or tone control but who cares,a true mans alarm. No fuss, just does the job its suppose to do.
  9. Do not know the origins of the name. If your serious about the bait (in 14mm) e-mail me your details and i will send you my address and we,ll get things moving
  10. I ordered some of the "Snatch Red" and fished it alongside NRG and Active 8 and the two mainline baits slaughtered it I have 2 ,5 kilo bags of frozen Snatch Red unopened if your interested £50 with post
  11. Play it safe and take Active 8,it seems to be taking its fair share of carp in France judging by the mags.Instant bait that the carp keep having and you can have 100% confidence in.I am off to France in Sept and am taking Act 8.
  12. In my opinion there is so many companies selling top class pop ups now in a huge variety of flavours and colours i would just buy them  .I think the Bait Company do custom made pop ups so you can match them to your base mix identically or very close, there is so much flavour loss and texture change when microwaving i would never feel confident in them on the hook ,plus they soak up water like a sponge and require recasting quite often if your balancing the hookbait .Blakes Tackle do a superb range of pop ups all made for Mark Blake by Ian Russell of HBS .The Harefield Haulers are something special.
  13. I think Kevin ________s mentioned these baits in Carp Fever (a real blast from the past),mixed the gelatine with finely ground trout pellet if i remember rightly.
  14. Can anyone shed any light on how the place is fishing or fished this year.Might be going in Sept, any info much appreciated
  15. Sorry for the delay Reel Deal, ihave spoken to him and he is the process of selling the Stevies, but not for the reason i mentioned and he took 2 of the magnets out of the Stevies and never had no trouble from then on.
  16. Do not be too p+~#-d off ,December isnt a good time to be starting fishing of any kind, and the chances are if there is thirties in the place where your fishing, there aint going to be a fish a chuck.Just relax, enjoy the fishing and learn a little bit every time you go and i guarantee things will start falling into place, and you will wonder what was so hard in the first place.GOOD LUCK
  17. Still happy with the braid as far as i know,i will see him this weekend so i will ask him for all the details and post on Sunday night for you.
  18. A friend of mine had the same problem(converting to braid)i think ,and he took one of the magnets out of the wheel.i presume you have the four magnet ones
