It is certainly isn,t a new method payara, like peter said,we used to load up 2 or 3 hairs with the particle we where using at the time, sweetcorn, chick peas etc but i stopped because i was worried about the particle masking the hook point(i was a worrier back in those days) Hows life peter

  8. Are we talking carp fishing raz???? If so,i wouldn,t be too despondent,it is the slowest time of the year, plus you have to take into account the type of water you are fishing, head for heavily overstocked "pastie" waters this time of year for the best chance of getting your stick bent.
  9. Only second hand ones available now Check out these web sites http://www.carptackletrader.com http://www.fishydeals.co.uk I would be very surprised if he found any has they are in great demand from carpers You can get smaller versions but only from the States Daiwa SS 2600 http://www.cabelas.com had them in last year but not sure about now.

The clutch is the best on the market, bar none, probably because of the 13 BALL BEARINGS. And all for £80 See them at web page AWESOME

  17. The reason i ask Fishing4carp is,i have seen a trend on other forums of posts by young lads,12-15 years old, wanting info on buying 3 and 3.5lb test curve rods. What on earth they would want a rod with a test curve of that poundage is beyond me There is no way a lad who probably weighs 6 stone wringing wet could compress a rod of that test curve to gain the distances they SAY they need. I think they look at the big names in the mags and it says "caught on a 3.5 tc Century or whatever" and assume they need a rod of that strength. The reality of it is they would probably be able to cast further with a 2.5 tc than with a 3.5,because they would be able to utilise the power in the butt section, which after all is where power of the cast comes from. Sorry for rambling on,i find it hard to comprehend, there probably just mini tackle tarts doing their apprenticeship
  18. Seph, you will probably find it is an insurance matter. If there is any injuries or deaths during a unauthorised period on the lake the club is libel probably. The club or landowner probably won,t pay the premiums for 24 hour fishing. I maybe wrong, but i think thats what it is likely to be
  19. Why such a heavy test curve????? Long range or heavy leads/feeders ?????
  20. Mine are 3 Biomaster 7000s.Not what i expected at all.Crap clutch and have an slack and un-engineered feel about them

  22. I started fishing for carp in 1984 at a place called Greystones Reservoir (sound familiar Peter)and Locke Park. My fishing life began in 1983 when i joined a m8 for a after school session at Albert Park after saying "fishings for farts" I caught a small roach first cast ,and that was it,i was smitten Caught my first carp from Greystones (8lb)on Richworth Smoked Ham boilies and went on to catch the record for the place at 13lb 4oz(1985)Caught a few from Locke Park as well on Tuttis
