  1. I cant view the page because im not a member of that site
  2. The owner offered it to me a year ago but for more than i wanted to pay , but hes found someone who is interested and sounds like its gonna go through , the trouble is from what ive heard he is buying it just for his successfull carp angler son to practice on and shutting it off from the public , ive been told this by one of the bailifs of the lake and not directly from the owner so there is still a slight chance that the baillif has got it wrong , if it is to be lost to anglers im gonna kick myself for not taking him up on his offer last year .
  3. I love crucian and when i get the chance to pleasure fish its an absolute pleasure catching them, theres a beautifull lake near me that im really sad to say is closing to the public soon and it is one of the best crucian lakes that i know of , a few of us have had the pleasure of catching them upto ( dare i say it ) and over 4lb and we know a record fish (if just one) lives here , the average stamp is 1lb or close and every session ive had there has thrown in the odd 2 or 3 lber with tench thrown in for good measure too , lovely place and again really sad to see it go especially as its 400yrds up the road from me . Happy memories though
  4. I was in a match at stub pond fishery yesterday and made a big tactical error . Its very important at stubbs to get tight to the central asland that runs the whole length of the venue and even if you fall 3ft away you may not get a bite all day and it is 5m out of pole range so requires some skillfull casting, i have 2 methods that i use to success on this water and the main one is the guru pellet cone and the other is straight lead and pinging 8mm pellets over the top , also waggler is an option but usually not worth the effort of occasionally getting stuck up branches or vegatation as all methods have to be spot on tight to the island . Before setting up any rods or poles i like to really prepare my baits and feed and i spend a long time on this soaking the pellets and putting half into one tub and another i dye red with cheap food colouring , just 3 drops will transform half a litre of pellets when stirred up , i then add dynamite baits the source to the red ones and i keep the other pellets totally natural , i then start making seperate pastes out of a few of the red and natural pellets , sort out some 8 & 10mm hard pellets for pinging over the top as i will be using mainly 10mm banded pellet on hook , all this doesnt take long but because the pole doesnt get a look in on this venue apart from maybe the margin in the last hour so i take my time with preparation , then i start taking my rods out and notice that my pellet waggler with reel is missing and remember its at home because id cleaned it up and re spooled the reel, and even thou i live only 5 minutes away id spent nearly all my time on the baits and would end up being late for the start so didnt think it was worth it as i knew that the straight lead or cone would be a winner . Any way getting to the point of this an hour into the match and ive had nothing and the guys to my right are on the waggler and ( youve guessed it ) are seriously starting to bag up and one of them was so far out on his casting but doing the best , i thought about rushing back and getting the waggler but thought i should have done this before the match and anyway im bound to start catching so carried on and just couldnt believe that 2 hours in id caught 1 fish and a crucian at that. Then i lost 3 big fish on the trot and the guy that was casting all over the shop was still catching well , but i decided to put this down to experience and just carried on seeing if i could salvage a couple of beasties as the matches i fish payout for the biggest fish of the day which means youve always got something to be aiming for and nice sometimes , so i set up some stronger gear and hair rigged 3 8mm red boilies and got my casts right into the vegatation in the island and just waited and with half hour left hooked a lump and 10 minutes later weighed in a 13lb common ( we dont keep any fish bigger than 10lb ) for biggest fish . The guy thats casting was dodgy weighed in 20 carp for 115lb and when i spoke to him he told me he had been fishing 18 inches deep which had never crossed my mind that they were up in the water. So to conclude what i had learnt 1 The rules to catching here are not written in stone 2 Should have packed me waggler or made the decision to go and get it . Glad this lad won though as he doesnt do very well normally and he was so happy to have had a red letter day. Im sure he wont let us forget in a hurry though How many times have we made bad decisions or forgot something that has maybe cost us a match or that big fish etc ?
  5. Hi do leggetts hold any matches as someone i know said they do , i thought i knew everywhere that holds matches and even more surprising is its vertually on my doorstep . Do you know where abouts in the eastgrinstead area the lakes are? as i keep forgetting to ask about , ive tried looking for a website but no joy , also is it a dayticket or club water? Many thanks tony
  6. Its funny because my wife is your age and she likes to listen to really old songs now and then , its almost like shes reminiscing on music that was way before her time , its something i used to do when i was that age , but was still mad on house and garage and still find this sort of music uplifting and creative I think what is is that this type of music includes a lot of samples of really old songs that even though were before our time our subconscious pick up on them no matter how well hidden in the track and we then have a conscious connection with the original versions when we hear them and its like we are then reminiscing on an old favourite (amazing and powerfull thing the subconcious ) These below i find uplifting and the 2nd one down is said to be sampled from 250 old records and tv adds etc and i think still holds the record for this type of thing What i love about this type of music is although these tunes are nearly 20 years old and the 1st and 2nd one 25 years old they still sound fresh today , its always ahead of its time . love it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XeO3U1i3hCU...feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LqyNj-eO-mQ
  7. They may have said swimsuit or swimming costume but my wishfull mind automatically chose that to mean bikini
  8. Chris moyles and dave vittie (comedy dave ) have just finished there record breaking 52 hours none stop radio show for comic relief and raised a massive 2.5 million pounds. I tuned in at various times during the course of the show as it was shown live on tv and enjoyed every moment , they had some great guests and great comedy moments that i and everyone else who tuned in will treasure . They could have finished on 50 hours but decided that they would carry and do their normal breakfast show stint for a further 2 hours , what characters As the final hour approached and the figure raised was at about 1.8 million chris said that if they could break 2 million pounds that fern cotton would come on to do her radio show dressed in a bikini and in that last hour they raised nearly 600.000 and she appeared Well done chris and dave your radio heroes in mine and many many peoples books . http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/chrismoyles/longestshow/
  9. Really glad toms managing the team , i bet he is chomping at the bit to get out there , this is just what he loves doing and he is the best man for the job and this is a very good team . I try to model my method feeding on tom pickerings and nearly everything else on steve ringer going way back before his AT segment . Im really looking forward to this competition and i think tom and steve are the strongest in the team at this discipline but there also my favourites so maybe a bit of biast there
  10. who,d go naked ? he wood , what a teak!
  11. This is what im gonna be buying for lumps in the margin https://www.tackleuk.co.uk/shimano-beastmas...50m-p-4041.html Also theres a selection below to choose from http://www.tackleup.com/match_poles_5.htm Also the all new daiwa yank and bank is considered the best but its 240 pounds and i cant see any advantage over the shimano , not for a margin lump tamer anyway http://www.poingdestres.co.uk/5055/Daiwa-Y...ampaign=pid5055
  12. If you cast out a large bomb and wind in slowly you can feel if its fairly deep. But dont knows my answer
  13. Yes or the pellet waggler set about 8 inches deep and just keep catapulting 2 or three 10mm sinking carp pellets into a tight area and if you dont get them this way then go deeper as they may be feeding on them lower down or on the deck
  14. I still get taken in from time to time by clever marketing ideas and get excited about new products but i agree with budgie and a few others and my instincts tell me this product might only fool a fish if its fished next to weed itself but i still think its gonna stick out like the sore thumb anyway. But thats not to say it wont work because fish have been fooled by stranger things than this in history but i think that the money this line thing costs would be better spent on quality bait and feed . My experience tells me that the most important thing to fishing effectively is the feeding strategy and if you get it right then you can catch on nearly any baits and any set up within reason because once youve got there attention on feeding they pretty much ignore the line or hook or feeders etc
  15. You dont need to know how deep the silt is , you just need to be just on top of it so carefull plumming is key . I use something thats not gonna sink to much into the silk ie a large surface area , ive used a large flat method feeder before but a large flat plummet will do , the plummet will still sink slightly but you can see this as the float stays briefly before sinking slowly so you know you have hit the silt and adjust the float depth accordingly so your either on or just above silt .
  16. The hooktyer is easiest and best way for tying spades and like you say will do the eyed if you feed the line through to make it in affect a knotless knot . I would always use a knotless knot with an eyed hook over a grinner because it makes the hook sit at an attacking angle . When i dont need a hair all i do is cut the tag end off leaving 2mm , in addition what i add to the video description below is when im at the bottom of the whipping i then add three whips going back up towards the eye and throu the eye. The knotless knot also retains nearly 100% line strength
  17. What a w4nk3r Its extravagants gone mad , oh look at me , not only can i afford a brand new lambo but when it wont start i can pay some people to destroy it . With all the suffering going on in the world this is such an ignorant needless act of selfishness and waste. Grrrrrrrrr w4nk3r
  18. Yes i was thinking the same thing , it surely misses the whole point of flourocarbon
  19. Thanks again chavender i think you tried to explain this to me at the itchen but i didnt follow what you were saying , i was to eager to just catch fish . This really makes sense now and i will be setting them up properly and using the shallow spool as well. Also again thankyou for the lesson on your browning revolver , it was a real eyeopener and not as easy as you made it look , im gonna get a pin for next years itchen probably spend around 50 or 60 pounds
  20. sorry ive just edited it in now
