You have pm John

I think your paddling scared all the fish off Rusty, well that's my story of why I blanked and I'm sticking to it
-
Nice one Tom, can't wait to get my Newbury ticket again getting bored of dt waters now!
-
Apparently canoeing is an all weather any time of the day sport, I encountered at least 5 a few weeks ago at half 7 at night in sub zero temperatures!
-
No doesn't really appeal to me either other than being easy to catch a few fish its just stuffed with small carp, not heard of court farm before, looks like a nice place to be compared to bishops green (and frobury farm for that matter!)
May have to take a trip up there, thanks for the info! -
Where abouts is it? There is also the pond at bishops green farm which iirc is £5 for the day
-
Considering the weather that's a great result! Well done mate
-
The canal towpaths were closed that day due to work being carried out Paul, all back to normal now though
-
Looks like a lovely place, reminds me of Looe in south cornwall!
-
Congratulations Chris, that's a big river pike if caught by design let alone caught on lib with no wire trace!
-
Still a nice chub Chris! Please don't tell me its our ever cheerful local shop that doesn't have lobs?
-

Sounds like a good couple of sessions Chris! Shame about the barbel though! Was this the same bit I had the carp from or the main river?
-

Cheers John, I got the idea after I threw my last couple of slices in at smithys before going home a while ago, the surface was going ballistic with carp attacking whole slices. Tescos own medium white bread is the best I've found as it molds round the hook shank really well so there is always something on the hook (hovis hasn't got the same stickiness and often breaks up too quickly leaving you with a bare hook) I personally wouldn't bother with Bellwood, there are two lakes that are far better for surface fishing, one you will rarely see another angler on......
