  1. Bloody hell...........I knew I should have come ! Well done Brian, what a lovely Grayling to cap it off !
  2. That's one thing about the youngs reels, you can get spare spools if you require them. I got two Purist spools, brand spankers off the bay for 50 ripp's, I kept one and gave the other to my friend. Even so though it's nice to have a few different reels to use.
  3. I have both of them and they're excellent reels. It's just making your mind up which to go for if those are the reels you've decided on. Good luck.
  4. Just found out it's five nicker entry so bugger it, I ain't payin money to spend money. I'll go fishin instead it looks good for tomorrow
  5. Rusty I've seen good little runs which produced great mixed bags dissapear after a severe downpour. I seen shallows become deep and the opposite and been quite shocked when I've got to the bank and seen the change. I saw one massive change on a stretch of the river Eden a few weeks back, it's wierd how it happens. It can literally happen overnight after heavy rainfall.
  6. I have several Youngs reels and they are very nice. If you like the look of them and the price doesn't put you off then they are a very good reels. Just curious which model your lookin to purchase ?

    Float making

I know it's nice to fish with floats made from traditional materials and it does niggle me that my chubbers arepre moulded plastic types but they do work well though. George do you make chubbers .....any pic's ?
  8. OK Anderoo, no worries, I'm not slating your article (I like it) but I thought it might be worth you adding that form of ledgering to it as the rivers you show look spot on for Laying on. Maybe if you try it and enjoy it then you can tack it on to your article ? Just a thought. It really is a super sensitive way of ledgering and well worth having a go, and it works equally as well for any species. Old Jw swears by it !
  9. Writing isn't really my thing but you never know I might just have a dabble Brian
  10. Thank's Tony, will do m8.
  11. Thank's Elton, looks like someones telling porkies
  12. Does anyone know if there's a tackle sale this Saturday (12th December) at Haydock race course ?
  13. Another form of ledgering for chub you forgot to mention is laying on, which is my favourite method of ledgering in small rivers. I think it's the most sensitive type of ledgering and is good for any species. Maybe you could add it to your article ?
  14. Knowing you TT it won't be long before your resistance is low
  15. LOL, You could have a screw in the end of your needle or make some other form of anchor for a platform.
  16. Yeph, save that for your tea and buiscuites lol.
  17. Unfortunatly I've not seen those dvd's yet but I know there are people on here that have so maybe they can tell you. It sounds like a bait pouch to me though. Was it not round their waist ? This is the item number to something on ebay that is used for wandering bank's whilst trotting 220514205264 There is an ESP one Chavender has mentioned in the past, maybe he can give you a link ?
  18. Don't doubt you TT but what made you come to that conclusion ?
  19. I think you be better off with a sheffield than either of those, just my opinion.
  20. Surely Anderoo it would be worth getting/making some monkey climbers as there's no problem with wind and I reckon TT could make some corkers.......for us ... You could have the shaft extra long and make the monkeys out of various materials of your choice. You could even have an assortment of different sized/weights of climbers to simply swap over if conditions change.
  21. When I've used my neoprene gloves the coldest part of my hand is my exposed finger tips through folding back the glove to enable me to bait the hook etc as they get wet. When I've been wading in my neoprene chest waders the last thing I would want there to be would be a leak as this would cause me to get wet and cold very fast. There totally different than a wet suit. If someone is wet in a cold place the first thing to do is get dry otherwise it's Curtains!!! Ask Ray Mears !
  22. That's deffo a modern old wives tale there Rusty. I've found the gloves you describe to be very good. The ones I use are the ron tompson one's in a blue colour with patches of light grey swade on them. I think if your hands are cold before you put the gloves on it takes yonk's for them to warm up !
  23. Isn't this their number 01704 226334
  24. That sounds like some ones simply getting shut of some tat. I have a speedia but....I've never used it yet. Looking at it there not the best of build quality and I think going off what I've seen they nearly all have a bit of a wobble (not that that should matter).
