    Fish in

Hi all, anyone fancy a fish in?? I've been tied up with family stuff etc for a while but getting back into my fishing so thought it might be nice to have a get together as I've not seem you all for years!! Some of you I've never met. Firstly let's see if anyone is interested then decide on a venue. lyn PS I may have been missing some, has there been any other than Wingham??
  3. I asked for the extra spool as I use my pin for chubbing and grayling fishing it saves keep changing line. I've been panicking as I thought I'd lost it as was about to start posting everywhere as I thought I'd left it on the river bank. Being the colour it is and the Anglersnet name on it actually, in my opinion, makes it very recognisable should it get lost or stolen.
  4. It doesn't have Anglersnet on it or were the later ones made without any writing on them? As mine is unique in that I have the only electric blue one, unless there has been other made I don't know about and that it is no 2 off the production and it has a spare spool does that make mine worth more???
  5. I used to fish the Bristol Avon quite a bit so I would go for that. Congrats on the kids lyn
  6. I fish the rivers alone and being as woman may be more cautious about where I fish. I used to feel safe on an old club water near reading on the Loddon as I was in the middle of a field and knew those I met were anglers. When I used to fish the Kennet at Burghfield I have to admit I didn't like the walk back along the tow path of the canal in the dark much. The way I look at it I am not going to let worrying about who might be about spoil what I love to do otherwise I would never be able to go unless someone else is around to fish with. I tend to pick out of the way places where I'm not likely to meet anyone or somewhere where help is at hand should I need it. If you ask nicely then I am sure there are guys on here you could meet up with to go fishing. I fished with quite of a few of them over the years and they are not a bad bunch all in all!! lol You have some fantastic fishing up your way that takes me an hour to get to but it is worth it. Hoping to get to the Thames this week, so just go for it. tight lines lyn
  7. Glad you all had a great weekend. Maybe once Liam's finished A levels next year and maybe my life will be more 'settled' we will be able to get down again. lyn
  8. Hi welcome to AN. Round at Langstone Harbour is a good place to start. There is a carpark just before the marina. Very strong current through there so not any good once the outgoing tide starts to run. They let the sewage out there and I used to fish off the comcrete causeways that the pipes run though. I guess there are still. there.
  9. That looks like a prime spot for an Anglers Net Fish in!!

PM me if you want to try and get a trip together or I know where we might be able to get an individual day out of Hayling for £45/50 Good luck Sunday, will look out for the report. lyn

  17. Off to NI until the 10th and hoping to get some sea fishing in with my nephew. Once I'm back, weather permitting, trying to get a boat trip out with Barry for the day before I go off to Scilly next month!!! Loads of fishing to get in. Also my barbel fishing will start once I get home!!! lyn
  18. You can get a book from the EA that covers rivers. canals etc saying what's in them and who runs them and if no one does then they are free to fish. I think its a great book. Used to be £1 and you just phoned up and ordered it. Might be worth a try. Good luck lyn PS Welcome to AN
  19. Well done, I'm hoping to get an evening on the Thames in the next couple of weeks but very busy with work at the mo. Looking forward to seeing the pics. lyn
  20. Thanks Barry we will look forward to it. Liam's busy with GCSEs at present but nearly finished them now. I went out last week out of Hayling and had two tope of around 25/30lb. I thought we were going bream fishing, which we did later in the day. It didn't do my neck injury any good and I'm still suffering but had a great day out with really good company. Set my treatment back and I guess tope fishing is out of the window for this year!!! lol lyn
  21. We were down on the south coast on Sunday for the day, very cold wind and no signs of anyone fishing other than someone out in a yak at the Ferryboat on Hayling. Is there much coming out from the beach does anyone know? I'm hoping my osteopath is going to say its ok to go fishing soon. lyn
  22. What a fantastic fish, well done to the guy who caught it. lyn

    Cars

The postman wrote off my car last week with me in it! Luckily despite over £3000 worth of damage, drivers door took the full impact, I walked away from it with whiplash but nothing broken other than both vehicles being write offs. Now the main thing I look at on a car if the size of the boot, 1st priority to make sure it will take the fishing/camping gear!! My little escort estate was perfect but I am thinking of as Astra diesel estate this time. are they pretty reliable, roomy cars? I hate having to get a new car because although I know a few things to check I have to admit I still think this is a 'boys' domain!!! If anyone not a million miles away from Basingstoke area knows of any diesel estates around the £1000 mark can you let me know please? I know it's not much but it's all I can afford at the mo. Any help/advice is appreciated as I only have a few days to find something before they take the hire car back :o Thanks lyn PS Does anyone know if the big vauxhall garage is still in the Chertsey area, if so what it's called?
  25. I watched it on the news earlier, scary stuff!! lyn
