  1. I have thought about this actually, I may just do this and see if I can pay them to fish on there land. I think your right. Maybe the time has come to join a club, can get kinda worrying round here, even the nicer parts like Windsor have issues with trouble, fouling and theft. Have you any suggestions on clubs??? Yes, this does go through my mind but I try and park on a residential road and walk further. Touch wood so far so good. Your braver than me Lyn. I dont put myself in harms way but I dont have a great track record with trouble finding me. Canals round here are populated with crack heads and drunks, human fouling is huge, so are needles. The Thames is bad in places with the same but I have found 1 spot which is fine, just feel I should be able to fish free In other spots but when I go there I dont like the look of it, not just me thats said no. I do understand though, guess I worry too much. Thanks Andy
  2. Anyone else put off going fishing due to unsafe places?? I dont fish commercial, yet. Mainyl rivers, some canal. I think I would spend a lot longer fishing, into the night more, if I felt safe but I just dont. I fish alone as well. My other mates all do carp and not rivers. I am watching some fishing on TV and envy the guy who knows a place to fish as he is friends with the owners or that stretch, nice bit of river across a farm field it looks. Could pitch up there for a few days and have a blast. Anyone feel/felt the same. What do you do? Andy
  3. I watch them, I did today, how to tie a 5 turn grinner. If it wasnt for people taking the time to make videos in a detailed step by step I wouldnt know what I know now. Do it dude
  4. I find taking the stuff I need for cooking is a pain so I just take sarnies, chocolate and water....... but I havent been winter fishing yet so I am guessing I will need to take my hot stuff to make tea/coffee and a couple bacon rolls.
  5. Not yet, thats cool though. I will have to come along another time, busy until next week, booo. Very interested in what the score is when Pike fishing though. Regards
  6. I have bought some short and long forceps, also a chain mail glove. Need a bigger mat and net. Im also gonna go for this set up, 2 reasons, if its good enough for Mick it will be fine for me, I like the look of the set up lol
  7. I'd be interested in meeting up too, I dont have my pike set up yet but need some hints and tips, also a keen photographer so a days pike fishing detailed by pics could be done.
  8. 16 got a moped, could travel, so gave up fishing and did other stuff away from home, found different friends etc Fast forward 20+ yrs and I quit work due to an serious illness, fishing is back on, last 4yrs I have been going when I can, realised how much I have missed it.
  9. Im hoping to buy a pike set up and get out this winter, worried a bit haha
  10. Great catches. These fish and pike freak me out. Whos been bitten then ??
  11. I love fishing the Thames, even the smaller perch are a good weight
  12. I have been fishing the river Thames in Windsor/Dorney for about 3yrs. Plenty of fish to be had, Dace, Perch, Roach and Pike is what I have caught, but you need to be patient at times. Other folk I have been talking to have been catching Barbel and Carp but not as often. PM dude and I will let you know a spot which is quiet, safe and never failed for me.
