  1. I dont know what it is about the relief channel at Fishers Green it has always produced big fish inc chub and carp, attracting many speciman anglers over the years including such people as Terry Hearn. I love the river and used to fish it some years back. lyn

    Lymington

Nice Mullet in the harbour but you can only fish at the bottom of the town. It's difficult because of all the marinas as you can't fish near them. Beach, round towards Milford on Sea but be prepared for a long walk!!! lyn
  3. Welcome to AN, there are women out there in your situation that fish and take their kids with them. I am one of them but luckily I do have a car. I have my son pestering as I type to take him fishing and it is chucking it down!!! If I lived up your way I would gladly give you a lift. You will find there are quite a few female anglers on this site so I hope you enjoy it, we all do. lyn
  4. Happy Birthday Rob, hope its a good one. x

  9. There may be an earlier thread on this but I saw a map yesterday of fishing rights that are for sale on the Test and it includes part of the beat we used to fish. It comes right down to the salmon hut by the feeder stream. I always fished that bit On a good note, well for me at least, I might get guested on it lyn
  10. Thanks Chris, I'm also going to check out the fishing at a spa I went to over that way as I'm told the grayling and pike fishing are good. The owner is coming here to a party in a couple of weeks, might just have to give him extra helpings of dinner lyn
  11. I went to Newbury last night and realised how close it is to me. I have fished the Kennet there some years ago. Do you know about the section that runs through the town. Would I find Shaw Social club on a map? I never realised just how far away from the rivers I am now Any help would be great. lyn
  12. That's where you took 'nick from3 doors down' isn't it?? He will be able to say how good the barbel fishing is
  13. Ok, I was going to do a barbel one last year then circumstances changed and I did not have time. How is anyone fixed for the weekend 23/24 July? failing that would have to be the end of August. Will be at Christchurch then you have the choice of the Hampshire Avon and the Dorset Stour. You don't have to stay for the weekend and day tickets can be obtained from Davis tackle on the day. That is the start of the school holidays so B & Bs and campsites will be getting busy but I cant make it before then. With the football season starting early September then I will tied up with that hence having to do it before then. If I can get an idea of numbers then I can contact Ringwood AC to forewarn them! lyn PS still looking for a bull to grab by the horns
  14. Budgie I have a pair of 324's which are smaller than the 300s if they are any good let me know. lyn
  15. I do lyn PS Just realised I will have to update it now I've moved, wouldn't want you all thinking that I live with chesters
  16. I remember Terry Hearn having stuff stolen inc a pair of rods with his name on. They turned up for sale in a local tackle shop and Dave Green recognised them and got them back for him! Totally off topic but Matthew had his bike stolen once and it turned up in a local second hand shop and I had to buy it off them!!!! lyn
  17. My condolences to you and your family teme man. I have had my life on hold for the last month waiting for tests to see if I have cancer so I didn’t make any plans until last Thursday when tests show that the growth does not look 'sinister' according to the oncologist so I will be off to the river still deciding which one, prob the Thames. Good luck to all going out, the last 3 months seem to have flown by. lyn
