Thier was a river in Lancashire a few years back(cant remember its name but it was near to Blackburn) which suffered a pollution the result was all roach turned into females, never heard anything since as like most of these things they seem to get verry little publicity, but i should imagine it never fully recovered

  6. Thanks forthe advice I am using an Olympus E-500 and would ideally want a 75-300 or something similar but at the moment anything in that range is 1000's of pounds for my camera and cant justify that outlay especially withmy limited experience behind a camera
  7. somebody elses line whos fishing on the other side of the boat
  8. I am considering investing in a new lens for more zoom i currently have a 14-45 and a 40-150. The one that i am looking at is a sigma 55-200 here http://www.sigmaphoto.com/lenses/lenses_al...288&navigator=6. Ihave seen a couple second hand for between £60 and £80. I have also been looking at a tele converter here http://www.olympus-esystem.com/dea/products/lens/ec-14/. Ideally i would go for a ZD(Olympus lens) but their prices are way beyond my budget. What would be the best way to go do you think, am i going to gain much more with just an extra 50mm over my other lens and are tele converters any good or am i best of just saving up for a ZD lens for up to 6 times the price One of the reasons i bought the E500 was the four thirds lens system as i was told that it would be compatible with a lot more lenses/manufacturers but after buying it and looking for lenses it seems that cannon and Nikon are the most common fit I am hoping that this four thirds thingy catches on. so i can have more choice of lenses.
  9. Thanks for the comments/congratulations I have a few ideas for the next theme but can't make my mind just yet, god knows how i will be able to pick 3 photos Some really good pics coming thru and not just in the comp.
  10. Thanks looks like you are both right, it would appear i have a corrupt file which i have just downloaded again the extracted the first file in the list and all is well
  11. whilst out fishing on thursday i managed to snap this robin which was the only bright spot in the day as i blanked again. It did come closer (within touching distance) but i wasnt ready with the camera. Some great shots of that heron rabster. I have tried to get a couple of a heron but could not get near it as they are very timid as i am sure you are aware . Wildlife photos are probably my favourite types of picture especially whilst in motion.
  12. I Have downloaded a program which came thru as group of single .rar files which when put together should make a .cue(cd image file) file but when i try to extract them i get this I think its just a matter of extracting the files one at a time but all the files have the same name and are in no particular order. Anybody know how i can group these files when extracting or find out what order they are in
  13. Well done Steve and thanks to printbiz. I have just checked out the link to your site and there is some intersting stuff there. I like the how you have it mugs I'll be ordering a couple soon me thinks.
  14. I have just found out via fishing magic forum http://www.fishingmagic.com/forum/forummes...ate=0&cp=1&dt=4 that Warrington anglers have just lost a stretch of the river Ribble to another club(Clitheroe Anglers). From the way i understand it WAA where outbid in a "hostile takeover" apparently the other club put in a bid for nearly 3 times the amount of the current lease without WAA even aware of what was going on. Whilst the ribble may not hold the "traveller" or the next record barbel it still stinks as all the other rents in the area are sure to go up because of this, pushing other clubs off thier stretches as the more wealthy game clubs move in to fish some lovely stretches of river for about 3 months of the year.I thought there was supposed to be some unwritten rule between clubs where they would not get involved in bidding wars for waters that are already run by other clubs. Belive me this is the thin end of the wedge and it could be coming to YOUR favourite stretch of river. CAA are a game only club (Not that it makes any difference) with what i understand to be a limited membership.

    carwash

Purely for resaearch i entered sex and orgasm and she is definatly faking it
  16. I was out fishing this morning which was a disaster as put my maggots in the freezer last night instead of the fridge which killed them all off, then when i got to the lake i had forgotten my keys for the gate to get into the car park . I eventually ended up on a river for a couple of hours trotting with 2 pints of dead maggots which resulted in a lost grayling at the net 1 small bullhead(which was a pleasant surprise) and a minnow (which wasn't). After fishing i come home to watch the football and after seeing spurs win(which took them closer to us in the league) and seeing my team lose, i was not best pleased, but when i seen one of my pics chosen for the vote i was over the moon(as they say) as they where all great pics and i would not like to choose between any of them. I think i had better picture's to enter than the bike (especially the first one as its the first time i have tried panning), but seeing as motorbikes is another one of my passion's it got the choice over these two which i feel are better photos but the heart ruled over the head . 17. not sure milo has peg numbers but the jettys are long strips of bank that stick out into the lake, there is only two on milo and they are near to the wooden hut where you pay your money. If you want to get on these pegs then make sure your up early in the morning to get to the front of the que. I have not been there for about five years so things may have changed but knowing cudmore they probably have not.
  18. If you check out the carp forum there is a thread on there which gives details of a couple of clubs around your area. http://www.anglersnet.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=58289 It was recomended that stoke on trent AS wher a good club and there is also prince albert but there is a waiting list to get in. Some clubs also have a joining fee in the first year and charge extra to night fish as well as subs, so it it maybe worth checking out the rules and the waters before you join so as not to waste your money if you dont like them after you have paid.
  19. you are guaranteed to catch if you fish on peg _______ next to the ________ which has a _________ at about __________ yards out, but you must use __________ as bait or you wont catch. if you say the secret password to them they also let you fish for nowt, and the password is(yes youve guessed it) _____________ My mind has gone blank at the moment but if i remember anything else i will post it later
