  1. Your quite right budgie. I have a fair idea in that I know that this being my 3rd attempt I would love to finally get a tench. On the other hand I enjoyed going for the eels last year and I did well so would like to try and emulate the same success of last year. My main plan is two rods during the day for tench and then one rod for tench at night with another close in for eels. On one night I may leave two out for tench. No doubt I will catch nothing but pike and eels again though hehe
  2. I would love to get one. I think I will do my eeling close in at night so as not to disturb my other baited areas further out to give the bream a chance to come in It must be a horrible sight to see them move away.
  3. I would love a bream but I think I will be mainly aiming for tench and eels this year. I know my brother is aiming for the tench too. I am pretty sure neither of us would mind the bream coming along though. What would you say you will do differently for the bream that you might not do for the tench Andrew?
  4. I am about to have a yikes experience today. Off to the tackle shop to get 'a few bits' that I need for wingham. I am not expecting it to be a cheap affair! Just have to make sure the wife doesnt see me walking in with it all
  5. If you want to learn all about fish care (carp care in particular) you need look no further than the AN facebook gallerys. People get an absolute grilling on there about mats and not standing and all the other stuff. People actually get a bit nasty with it. I dont even bother to read the comments on the pics because about 1 in 20 is actually saying well done whereas the others are doubting weights and preaching care etc. We are awfully good at pointing out flaws compared to actually patting people on the back as anglers. I agree that fish care should be common sense really.
  6. Dave I have managed to sort a bedchair from a friend thankfully so looks like I will be ok but thanks.
  7. The feeder booms I use are still very free running. The line runs through the boom rather than through the swivel of the lead and the lead clips to the boom. You can also cut the boom to length to suit what you want.. These are the ones I used: http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.summerlands-tackle.co.uk/shopimages/products/John%2520Roberts/P1000815.JPG&imgrefurl=http://www.summerlands-tackle.co.uk/section.php/2555/1/john-roberts-accessories&h=480&w=480&sz=218&tbnid=3XE4iMEZTg1r7M:&tbnh=91&tbnw=91&zoom=1&usg=__82dF8tipnuUxt1L0rbkMVSMzFwg=&docid=2gRa-2GTiWppBM&sa=X&ei=_zyOUceqDcibPeLDgKAM&ved=0CEsQ9QEwBA&dur=610
  8. I may have arranged another through a friend so will let you know in good time so you dont pack it if its not needed.
  9. lol I am 14.5st so not fat as far as I know. As long as it is safe to lie on I am sure it would be ok lol.
  10. I have been using feeder booms to very good effect if you want to take a look at those. They hold your hooklength away from the feeder It does add a bit of extra end tackle but it hasnt caused me any issues. I only use the booms when using light lines though as thicker mono doesnt tend to tangle so much anyway.
  11. Lol well i would rather enjoy a bit of comfort. Maybe a bed roll would be better than just being on the deck. Especially with my tempermental spine!
  12. I like the eagle claw hooks too. Not bought any in a while so dont know of any deals sadly.
  13. If anyone can lend me a bedchair please could they let me know for sure as if not I will have to buy one this week. I am hoping I wont have to however as it would see very little use if I did.
  14. Well I am certainly glad I didn't have to wait a whole week to find that out! It explains a lot of odd sights that you see at the fish in such as the shadowy figures in stockings moving around the clubhouse at night. I had thought you fellas were just a little kinky but now I know the truth. There is a very god reason that I zip up my bivvy at night.
  15. Ok I apologise if I was out of order for asking. I was just curious.
  16. I am not questioning your judgement at all Steve but what is the reason for no pike fishing at Wingham? I am just curious thats all. Is it to do with the management of fish numbers etc.
  17. If you do have a spare bedchair Dave I would love to put my name down for it
  18. Throw it back and hope no-one saw
  19. I spoke to Paul the other week asking for info on the bivvy I borrowed off him last year as I and my brother wanted to buy one. I don't think he is managing to get on here quite as much at the moment so he may not have seen any messages you sent him. Im sure he will respond as soon as he gets on.
  20. I really enjoyed that. I have to admit that on occasion I have been known to do a little hand lining for minnows etc in the rocky margins of rivers as a way of having a little fun. It is something I intend to do with my daughter when she gets old enough. I want her to enjoy the same magical feeling of searching river beds and catching little critters as I had when I was younger.
  21. So easily done. I often pop in for maggots before a session and come out £30-40 lighter.
  22. An enjoyable read. I am praying to the gods of fishing that I can tempt one of those beautiful tench this year. That black one is a stunning looking fish.
  23. Those are immaculate looking fish. Very nice. I do enjoy seeing fishing abroad whether in europe or africa. It is just interesting so see how it differs or how it does not. Great stuff.
  24. Big thanks Steve for allowing us down again. Can't wait to get there.
  25. Hi all, I have everything I need this year apart from a bedchair. Would anyone happen to have one spare? It would be much appreciated. Looking forward to getting down there again.
