Sea fishing from both shore and boat, carp fishing and general maggot drowning. I have had a go at fluff chucking but didn't like it much.
My first love is stick float fishing with carp a close second.
I am married with 2 kids, my son is just starting to get into fishing which is great as it gives me an excuse to go a bit more often.
I work in SE london repairing the bodywork on the London buses.

1. Hi all, I am looking for a Diawa TDPK 13FT multiplyer or fixed spool version, I have one and really want to make up a pair. Someone is bound to have one kicking around at the back of their tackle shed in amongst the cobwebs I am not worried about the condition of eyes etc as long as the blank is not damaged. I have cash waiting
2. It brings it home to you just what can happen. I have a lot of time for the RNLI people especially when you consider they are nearly all unpaid volunteeres. I've been in a couple of nasty situations when out boat fishing but luckily not as bad as this one. Having two kids and spending a lot of time in Swanage Dorset where you can get very close to the lifeboats and get to know their crews I think I have now spent enough money in their shop to but another boat for them. I don't begrudge spending any of it they are all heros in my book!!
3. The good thing is you can return what you dont use

Deal pier

Kids still breathing Took my son to the pier, got there about 4pm and left about 9;30pm. Set him up with a carp rod down the side of the pier and he was happy catching pouting. Set one rod up with a small livebait for a Bass and another lobbed out with lug on it. We ended up with my son catching 150 million pouting, all about 4" long and all I got was a doggie. You will be glad to hear the livebait was returned live and well at the end of the day After talking to a few of the locals the fishing is very poor at the moment, the mackeral are only turning up in ones and twos, there is the odd bass and the odd smoothhound all on crab baits. The doggies are showing but not in any numbers and seem to be showing more just before and just after low tide.

Deal pier

6. Thats one for my xmas/birthday list
7. Hi Matty and welcome to the forum, I have seen your other post so will leave this one to just saying hello
8. Do you guys still use a wire trace? One of the lakes I fish has some big perch in it but its also stuffed with jack pike. The smaller perch are quite catchable on lobworms and I have caught loads of pike from here but never a perch on live or dead bait could it be the trace putting them off? I know it would be suicide to fish here without a trace, I was just wondering if you had any ideas? I make my own traces (28lb Drennan wire) so they are not the thick nylon covered type. The lake is an old clay quarry so in settled weather it can be like tap water
9. Hi Matt and welcome to the forum, as Budgie has said we need a bit more info to help out. Course fishing is so varied we need to know as much as possible as to what you are going to fish for, where abouts you are going to fish, will it be lakes, canals, rivers, streams?. Another thing, probably as important is what sort of budget have you got to spend?
10. The dvd's I have come across are good to watch but I dont think you can beat scanning a few books or better still asking other anglers if its tackle and bait tips you are after. The fastest way to pick up snippets is to find yourself a fishing match and sit quietly along the bank with a flask and some sarnies and just watch. You will soon be able to pick out the better anglers, (not by the brand names on their gear)but just by the way the set themselves up, have everything laid out and just how easy they make using a pole look.
11. Has anybody been to Dungie or Denge recently? I am thinking of doing an evening trip down there and was after any up to date info on whats coming off the beach. Or better still does anyone have any spots that are fishing well? a few sole would be nice I'm in North kent so anywhere round this end of the world,
12. Will I get away with a trolly or is it more of a rucksack sort of walk? Any tips on bait or rigs would be great if you have fished it, it would save me having to carry everything with me just incase
13. Nice catch guys, sweetcorn is a good bait as you now know , my first choice would be cheese paste though as the big Roach love it too. All I do is get a packet of the cheese slices you get for cheese burgers (get a good one not a happy shopper job)and just peel a couple and sqish them together, break bits off and mold it around your hook. It doesn't last as long on the hook as sweetcorn but you can bury the hook to fool the chub plus when the water is cold you can really bag up on it
14. Cheers guys, I have found them now so will have a quick run down there to have a look round. Is there parking? If there is, is it the normal big metal Kingfisher gate to look out for?

I am Newie

Hi Leo and welcome to the forum, sorry I cant be of much help but I'm the other end of the country. If you dont find any helpers on here (I will be surprised if you dont) your best bet is to walk along where others are fishing and just watch for a while and just ask for some advice, normally fellow anglers will be very helpfull on local fishing tips and spots. Good luck
