  1. Well I hadn't seen it before and am quite amused. Little Onions, do I detect that the festive spirit has left you already....???
  2. My Missus has just given me a cracking and unexpected Christmas present, a Kangaroo leather hat made by Barmah, it is a wide brimmed job so it'll keep the rain off etc as you mention. You know when something just feels right? (I didn't say looked right....!!!), well this is it.....I'm mega impressed.
  3. quote: Supply it to my village and I will You'll only complain when we cut through all the ancient tree roots......
  4. Get cable instead (I work for an operator), I don't get involved in the billing but, as far as I know, there are no long contracts etc plus free service when (if) it all goes pear shaped. Our phone calls/rental is definitely cheaper than BT but the TV channels are pricier although you can chop and change as you want........I'm all right though Jack....I get it all for free anyhow
  5. quote: also had to help all night with the SONY thingy that tinca says is going to change my life, ba humbug Just stick the Bridget Jones Diary DVD in it when you've got it all set up and you'll warm to it.....not bad for a chick flick
  6. Someone's been nicking my home made pickled eggs although the rule is they can't until the 24th.....I suspect the Sister-In-Law's daughter! I aint going to have one 'till tomorrow myself though............
  7. I only buy AM very infrequently also and every time I do I wish I'd put that pound coin into a charity box instead. Absolute rubbish.
  8. You do Nursejudy....Trust me! It will make your life complete.
  9. Cheers Wirral, and the same to you and yours and to everybody else. All the best for 2003.
  10. I'm not (or rather wasn't) a great believer in potions bought from these health food type shops. However, after a recent bought of flu threatened to once again deteriorate into the Pleurisy I had a couple of years ago a friends wife recommended I try Echinaforce Drops. They taste like mud but they really did work very quickly for me. I was gobsmacked. Apparently it is an old North American Indian medicine so I suppose they knew a thing or two in those days.
  11. I'll be there Elton too.....trouble is I haven't a clue what to get her. Sony's Dolby 5.1 home entertainment system is looking favourite methinks.....
  12. Have you finished with that bucket Ian...??????
  13. Just think what they could do to you if your performance didn't come up to scratch though....!!
  14. I'm off to my works do shortly. Mexican meal then drinking all afternoon/evening......Hangover city tomorrow, I just know it...
  15. Nope.....Goose in this household, infinately better.
  16. Seph's Barbel is in infinately better condition than the sorry creatures that I was catching but I was fishing the 'classic' muddy puddle type complex. This bit of water looks on the photograph to be a much larger and deeper expanse of water and, possibly, better suited to Barbel.
  17. We had sprog #2 four months ago. On Monday my wife, completely out of the blue, calmy enquired of me whether she should book me an appointment at the Doctors for the snip........ Brings tears to me eyes even thinking about it..
  18. Excellent....Thanks to all concerned.
  19. I was 'persuaded' to have a days fishing at the Woodlands complex near Thirsk a few years back and caught a few of the Barbel that, unfortunately, have to exist in the place. They were in very poor condition and a very washed out pale colour. Now whether this was because they simply didn't take to living in a puddle or because they had been caught a dozen times that week I wouldn't know, but I truly found it a disturbing experience fishing there and will not be going back in a hurry. I'd noted early on in the days 'fishing' that a decent fish was alive and tethered to one of the vast array of floats lost by other 'anglers' amongst the foliage on the Island in front of my peg and duly pointed this out to the owner/money collector relieving me of the extortionate day ticket sum, hoping that he would assure me that a boat would be launched at the end of the days 'sport' to free the unfortunate fish. The look on his face spoke volumes.....poor fish.
