  1. Personally i like over grown hardly fished rivers weather they be wide as the Ribble or narrow as Winchim Brook ,you just can't beat crawling throw nettles trying to create a small area to fish in amongst the over growth. On the other hand i like large lakes in nice surroundings with trees around it ware you don't get idiots shouting to each other across the lake, allso like fishing small pools with lots of features like lilies ,weed for Tench and cruies
  2. I catch alot of carp between 7pm-12pm in the summer and catch my bigger fish between 4-6am don't catch as many though but size is better.
  3. Unless am flavouring them ,iuse them straight out the bag and have best results with bait bands
  4. Wagler fishing or Tip fishing on a river ,Tench or Barbel are my fav fish
  5. Source or Richworths hawaiian pineapple.
  6. The roach and perch ware from separate waters lol and a 5lb Tench is a fare size and i love catching them esp on light tackle just am spoilt really for Tench as i fish some excellant Tench waters main species along with Barbel i target to be trufull. So at times i take decent fish for granted'd.
  7. Yeah i use them also have done for years caught me many of big fish .These the ones you mean?http://www.tackleshop.co.uk/ProductImages/drennanovalblockend.jpg ones i get are ussally a darker green tho.
  8. http://www.specialist-tackle.co.uk/popup.p...images/2555.gif there the ones i got but larger i think.
  9. I got some excellent fox ones last year ware u could screw the tops and bottoms of and use them as open end feeders as well, ill try and find some for you!Give me a min ,i'm sure i bought mine of the net!
  10. Yeah Rabbit that's wat i usually do when it gets really choppy get the old swing tip out, love watching it lift up .Need to buy my self a new swing tip rod now you mention it!
  11. Grey ill give that a go one day never hered of it befor wat do you use to keep the "Led" in place ledger stops? Yeah i allways sink my line my after casting ,but at times it takes alot more ,esp on large waters when fishing for big fish on small baits such as maggot. The methord I've been using does work it's just i'm hopeing to find some differnt methods to see if i can find a better one as am not 100% happy at the moment.
  12. ..When wagler fishing how does everyone beat a strong drift/under town?Way Ive been doing it for years is first of all make sure i allways sink my line, then make sure am fishing over depth with the aproite sized weight pinning the bait to the bottom and haveing the float set correctly so it doesn't pull under as it trys to drift .
  13. Spud do a quick search on this sight , you will find variouse replys to the same question you have asked/posted many of time.
  14. I had a load 1lb+ roach this evening while tenching and yesterday while tenching had a few 2lb perch witch i ended up fishing for insted.Great two days fishing indeed.Only ended up with 3 Tench out of two days no biguns bigest 5lb smallest 2lb.
  15. I've caught most of my tench on Corn or Red Maggot but caught my Pb on worm/corn cocktail
  16. My P.b (10.8)fell to double corn over a very large bed of vitlin early morning,i have best luck using a longer hair than wat i do when using a standered carp hair.
  17. As far as i know you can fish on a Canal/River from a boat with out having a fishing permit as long as you have a rod licence. I may be wrong though.
  18. Yeah i own one also and use it about 2 a year if that on commercial fisheries ,just out of curiosity to see if i could still keep up with match weights.(ex match angler)
  19. I use maxima for every line of fishing i do up to 5lb then the line quality just doesn't seem to be the same until you get to 12lb then it's top notch again,so for 8lb/10lb line i use GR60 or fox soft steel camo. Back to original question yes i do personally believe Maxima is the best line on the market for light wagler fishing, just my opinion though ,and I've used it for over the last 15years,
  20. Ill be using 4lb Mono main line (sounds abit heavy but there is a lot of big tench/carp in the water ),with a very sensitive float showing just a small bit of tip out of the water with ither small cubes of Luncheon meat or small grains of corn on the 14 hook, and using red maggots as lose feed probably put two balls a groundbait in at the start of the session as well. There is probably better ways of catching them but this is Wat I've had good results with.
  21. Am going to have a go after some Crucian carp at the weekend, not sure how i will get on though
  22. Tim Kelly ,i can't speak for everyoneso every year for the last severn years or so i've seen a massive incline in anglers every year so much so i refuse to fish certain stretches of river,so from my point of view on your comment is void! As for the old closed season being no point/having a point. I am sick of discussing it personally i think waters esp rivers deserve a break ,not going into detail why, as am sick and tired of the same debate
  23. Excellent reel at a decent price I've been using that reel for a while now haven't found one fault with it yet!
  24. One of my rods is 1.75 also got a 1.5 they are excellent for specimen fishing esp on the rivers.Only time i don't use them really is when am using PVA bags or fishing hard to features and it's a hit and hold case ware there are fish above 20lb present..Probably my most used rods.
