  1. i generaly stick to fishmeal or meat meal in summer and bird seed and sweet in winter, good old richworth tuties, the fish find it hard to digest the oil in winter, because there cold blooded it can solidify in there guts
  2. not sure but you can buy the full catalogue for 20 quid
  3. i dont know where you live but ted carters of preston, own rods are made with harrison blanks.dont buy over the phone, which shop it might be go and feel the rod if possible ,take the prodigy, sounded brilliant in the brocher, but on the river,no backbone any flow bent double
  4. baitcasters i class as differant, for small lurea and accracy on drains and canels,im on about big multipliers used for lures touching100grm or more, baitcasters with the right rod and size lure of no more really than 28grm,which i keep in the van and have half an hour on the works lodge on my dinner, nothing bigger than14pd,but being full of snags,i cant get the accracy with a spinnig reel.may be thats me.and im no half wit.its opinion, and that is what the site is about
  5. try using anchor tube ,cut into 4inch stips attach every foot with float stops about the length of your casting length and you can keep it on untill its really pushing through ,never snags and its heavier than leadcore, just have your rods lower,no need for the rods pointing to the sky ,most people have baitrunners these days,as they say its your angle of ya dangle
  6. no multipliers in general ,iv had them and what is there to gain in using them ,lures thats it a 6 or 8000 baitrunner everything bar fly fishing
  7. when i said up the lakes i meant on a boat were 9to10 feet is reasnable,we cant allways have are rods made,27quidx2 on ebay cant mumble at that
  8. im refering to a 6000 baitrunner,in any case a large multiplier should be in the sea
  9. from over twelve y..earsnow,people have been saying they had seen and snapped.but there were rumours of it being a albino pike to a snakefish,i had to look that one up[there a preditor which are commen in the far east, and good for the table were asians are bringing them in mainly in the states]but it turned out to be a 8ld albino channel catfish.it gathers it was put in when this bloke died,at only 6inch,so it asnt grown on well, and thoughs locks are full of fish and pike which i was after.hopefully a photo wont be long.how it survived that long supprises me
  10. if you happen to come accros a dead 1to2 pound chub gut it and you will find more than any pike smaller. even barbel and if theres lamprey in the river ,ive had barbel pick up sectoins of lamprey ment for pike on the the trent
  11. when i go up the lakes i use 2 uptide rods with 6000 reels ,no birdsnest, and the rods are 9.5 feet so you can really give them magdawgs a reel throw.i prefare my baitcasters for small tight swims were there accracy comes into its own ,with lures no more than 28grms
  12. so you fix them ,slag some off ,what do you recomend then,in the 30to40price range that can do what the buyer wanted.i would like to know, not abu i presume, not a allround lure rod are they
  13. the shape has something to do with it ,i remember a few years ago solar brought out some bait that were all shapes. triangle baits worked well on the rivers for staying put,so i started making a few for hookbaits and the rod i used them on seemed to catch more fish,i think its down to ejecting them,a triangle must be harder than round or barrell to eject.because sometimes when your on a fishery were you have to use there own,i buy the biggest they sell trim them to shape then bag the cuttings, because only thing that is round they eat is a boilie, thats why tigers do well and other odd shaped baits
  14. i know an american guy staying over here and they know there baitcasters, and for the money he rated it highlly only flaw was right handed.and it wasnt because it was mine he had a quantum he could have used, thats another i rate highlly but they .it also cost more, well that model did.i prefare the more flatter models, they feel better with a trigger style rod.if pssible feel the reel on the rod, because casting all day ,it can start to feel sore, very sore, andthe model i think your talking about,is a round reel and silver.well thats not what i meant
  15. if you dont no you dont ,cant teach a old dog new trickes, people are saying that the water levels are so low ,get wading and find gravel spots ,prod around with a landing net pole, you would look for features on a lake ,same with rivers .get some polerized gigs and look.if you use the same bait reguler, barbel are thick and they will come along way for it.so dont be patranising and find out
  16. look on ebay and you can find these metal breifcases ,i paid 27quid,it must have saved me loads ,all my alarms go in anything you cant depend on.one of my mates got one put a dozon tray of eggs in and drove is moterbyke over it ,not one cracked, people buy metal rod cases so why stop there
  17. whats your opinion of washed out baits or full of glug,on pressured waters ,iv had to go onto washed out baits ,on others cast a single with a small bag ,and away, same gose with dehydrated baits .over to the forum
  18. be a man and lie under the stars

  24. now your water and areas, and i;ll be lucky to loose half a dozon end rigs, use about 20 inces of anchor tube and enterprise eject system and sort hooklenghts, and things should improve, make sure the lead or feeder stay on the deck and not move,no matter what the weight
