when i go to pendle veiw,i allways use a zig rig,and if possible get near the wall,i use the dynamite the green ones i dont now if they make them anymore,i think they are called zest,because i bought about six tubs and put in a bag and mixed them with the liquid.and i get at least one or more a trip

if a carp can eat a air dried boilie ,just think what it can do to your fingers or thumb,alot of people think theve been snapped at the hooklenght but it could have easily been a fish taken the bait back in the throat and bitten off,i have a pair off a 18 pounder ,there nasty ,makes me cringe thinking about it

i know i mate of mine stuck his finger a bit to far down a chubs mouth ,what a mess ,it took ages to heal proper

like i said thank god up north its not a problem[touch wood] but years ago when eels were a problem ,we use to find a road kill wrap it up in a cotton shirt not wool it catches in there teeth,peg it down tie the arms and the rest just leave the gaps between buttons and they will get in,even tearing through the shirt,place one dowstream and one up.come the morning they were full ,they would stay there even full because it was dark,thats how my pike baits were sorted ,and also made a few quid selling some for bait and the ,table.i no longer do this because eels arnt as much of a problem ,but on other rivers that have been ,i now just release them after the session.also sardines, mackrel or scraps from the fishmongers,its just making something you can emty every so often,try pegging a keepnet,or if you dont want them just peg something smelly up and down stream of you,tie string round the tails ,and then a rock and throw them out,make sure them upstream are tied well,so you dont have a loose sardine in your swim.best of luck dales

just talking about things put into mixes .i boil some hemp leave to dry completely ,then blitz it into a powder that looks creamy white and gives off a lovely white cloud

as there been any ducks,swans any wildlife been injured because 2 old women are making life hell for anglers on a strech near me,and thats were most of these problems start.were there is a sign near, me saying no fishing while bank and towpath work is ongoing, but they are bw signs,not council, so near me bw own the water and bank,and probably the same were you are

how far away are you from these pellet particles,because at 5.5mt i struggled to see the pellet,any closer ,with walking down the bank following it ,in gin clear water ,im supprised the chub stayed

that is why i make some paste from the base mix or order that paste from the boile order,so i can make a soft or hard boilies or just cover it .i allways take paste

i used to match fish all over the country,and allways used pre_tied,of a freind who also did them for other anglers,at what any dia and hoohsize and lenght you needed he also did flies for me,but having stopped due to a eye op.when in a match you want the same hoolength,its just take fom a fresh one and away we go .buy them at first while learning to make your own,and try to keep them the same lenth,and kept in order on match day,any lull in fishing change it.i even tye my hooks on,this way with eyed hooks on bigger than match.

a jacko jackson caught two tone on a kammason fly hook. a buzzer and shrimp hooks are bent from eye to point and are an exelant hook,barbed or barbless

thanks ,just keeping another angler imformed,if you join the warrington a/a you can get access to the severn and wye for under 50 quid,plus lots of others,and the pressure that the barbel are under ,fishing i mean,so yours is the next place,hirst green part of w.a.a and there are allready there,and have perfect venues to spawn,if you join get your waders on and find every thing there is to no about it,also the odd salmon and plenty of seatrout on the float,tight lines andy

im totoly against dangerouse rigs and hooks,it all started with the long bent shank gardner hooks ,i dont no if there is a bent hook.and to ban it on this venue,there must be a reason.but take steve renyards withy pool rig,were the hook as not been touched.a mate of the family was part owner of a match and mid doubles to mid 30 s,and if he found a fish with a hook still in its mouth,and these guys have a good idea how long its there,the bits and bobs if any, was on is, very rairley was still there .this is when he stopped certain rigs or hooks ,barbed or not the carp could get rid of them,but one thing i picked up on that tench find it hard to get shut of small hooks

it depends on the venue,i fished a lake for a number of years and made my own boilies with no flavour ,just the smell of the base mix ,which was boilix from nuitrabaits,its a meat meal mix instead of the most common fishmeal,that could of made the differance,if i visit a venue for the first time ,you can be pritty sure the majority of boilies going in are fishmeal based.so that is why i allways go with a meat meal base boilie ,you dont have to make your own quest do a good one,but buying them ,you no there are flavours and other enhancers in,the flavours are there to catch the angler more than the fish, a carp can easily find a washed out boilie ,and over time feel safe eating them,but just try either a birdfood mix or meat meal mix,like you did dont copy everyone else even if they may take the micky.if your fishing two or three rods ,fish, two or three differant baits and styles ,it wont take long before a patern is found

check out the season ticket of certain clubs theres prince albert which im a member but you are looking at upto 2 years waiying list ,the same with ribchester,but thers warrington and wigan,were you can get a membership for around 50 quid or less which opens up alot more of the river,only problem with many clubs is parking,but its worth the hyke.hope you can get sorted out ,because its one of the best rivers about,for fishing and senery, bar the wye

you can buy day tickets at the spar in ribchester but you only have a small sectoin to fish,and i think you have to buy the ticket prior to fishing[this might not carry on anymore ,but check]also you can fish the salmsbury section ,buying tickets from the 24 hour garage at the tickle trout hotel,at the m6 junction,were you stand a good chance of a double,make sure you use enough weight to keep your lead from moving and you wont suffer many snags.it cost £5 to fish and you have a larger area to fish,thers also the section called church deeps were im not sure what the ticket situation is anymore,onthat sectoin between melling wood ,about half mile down stream from the tickle trout and church deeps you have bream carp and a good chance of a double barbel and a 6id chub,theres no magic baits but till you no the strech keep your lead fixed to the deck and they will find it,another bit of advice is learn a section they, fish differant in high water,than low,the dace on the stick is picking up,nothing what it used to be.one more thing its all game fishing clubs from below clithroe and above,barbel are there but you wont get a ticket.bait wise keep to the same bait on that sectoin when finished throw a few handfulls in and they will be on it,a good boilie or a couple of eightmm pellets with a heavy feeder filled with damp pellets and hemp.dont go under gunned on set up,or you will wonder whats it you.not much doing during day when running clear ,better just turning dusk and into night
