  1. Newt, When you say "" ....a good fluorocarbon line will last and be good to fish with for a great deal longer than a mono, the price actually works out about the same or cheaper if you fish a lot."" I guess you really mean " longer than a nylon or other mono" because of course fluorocarbon is also a mono(filament) DG
  2. What's your SWAP file set to, size-wise? What's your Temp Internet Files storage allocation set at? How many days' storage is set in your Internet Options? I think Eltin wil confirm that a full page of posts is hardly anything, space-wise .. except if your various Options are exceeded Otherwise, just choose the Option on the pAges to list ... say the lasy 2 days' posts Diamond  Geezer
  3. Larry mate My spelling's not brill at the best of times but I think you mean fluorocarbon Personally I think these are over-rated (and over-priced) for most applications. For VERY heavily pressured and crystal-clear waters (where do you find those?!) they're OK for hook-lengths. Ashima's Poltergeist and Sufix Invisiline are better value for money IMHO But avoid those FLOURocarbons, white, brown or wholemeal coz they go very soggy in water. OK for bread-making though Diamond G
  4. I reckon that Shinobi stuff's a rip-off compared to the Sensor, though. Diamond The  Geezer
  5. What about the canal, and the r otter's not too far away Diamond G
  6. Cookus mate When you say ""what i cant believe is that a bloke caught what he said was a least a 10lber out of it"" you're right you can't believe it! Come on! It's fishermen and size of fish we're talking about here! Have you ever had someone say, "Yep, it's a cr@p lill old pond and there's nowt in it" ? unless they don't want you to fish it! Diamond G
  7. You'd do even better to go to Daiwa Sensor! Dogs bolls mono for peanuts Notta lotta peeps know that! Cept now they do! The Diamond Geezer
  8. Often it's the carp etc foraging for food that actually make the water murky! Don't worry, they don't need to be able to see that clearly to feed or to grab your bait .... they have an ace sense of smell and can even feed in the dark when there's no moon! Clever eh? Diamond G
  9. Yeah, Newt's quite right I natch assumed you'd be starting-out with a fixed-spool reel The Geezer
  10. Thanks for that info,Newt I regularly order from BasPro because their shipping charges are much more reasonable than Cabela's ! The  Geezer

  14. So, Newt, which brand(s) of fluorocarbon WOULD you go for then? The  Geezer
  15. Rog, mate I have just come across an article all about these fluorocarbon invisible lines if you're interested in checking it out It's in the Top Tackle Section under Lines sorry MONOS Fluorocarb at http://members.lycos.co.uk/lureangler/ It talks about knots etc check it out The  Geezer
  16. Roger B There's Berkley Vanish and Sufix Invisiline and Ashima Poltergeist (among others) These are fluorocarbon lines which are less visible to the human eye in water They are expensive, and as you say, need certain particular knots. They do have certain applications e.g. as hook-lengths in very heavily pressured waters, but as main lines I think they're a waste of money and have other disadvantages e.g. their higher density can cause ring heating etc The Really  Geezer
  17. Read the text on the box leaflet that comes with it; it'll recommend the best knots The  Geezer
