Nothing wrong with a pint or six even, but gambling is a mugs game in my opinion. A tax on stupidity. Once in a blue moon I might buy a lottery ticket but that is about it. I used to go to the PMU but only for fags and beer. I always thought that gambling was more civilised in France where you can put on a bet and then watch the race with a drink and a smoke. For those who don't know there are no private bookmakers in France, only the PMU which is a bit like the old TOTE before it was privatised.

I have never put one foot in a betting shop unless you count a PMU in France.
