  1. No mate it is not very deep or very fast. It is a nice fly fishing river up stream a bit, but fluff chuckin' is not really my game.
  2. quote: Originally posted by bluezulu: lets hope you don`t fall off yours and end up in the river seine!!!!!!!!!!! Not much chance, my nearest river is the Orne.
  3. But I don't want a nasty one, I want a nice one
  4. Interesting, might target a slapper or two myself. Are there any lurking on AN perchance?
  5. It seems very odd, but it happens. No they don't have to wait they can just pull out. (They have priority after all.) It is not just in France you will find this rule, most of our contintal cousins do it. At least the French, Germans and Spanish have a version.
  6. Slappers have got nothing to do with slapping then?
  7. Then watch out for the priorité a droit rule. This basically means that if you are driving along what you would consider to be a 'major road' and you come to a T-junction cars approaching the junction (on your right) have the right to pull out in front of you. Read up on it and understand it or you might end up having a prang.
  8. Nah, I think Brum is still on the same time zone as Southall. I hope your day at work is as productive as mine has been
  9. Crying over a game of footy? I think not. Crying over a snapped off mullet, maybe just!
  10. Whatever, both sound terrible. Those that cannot pronounce their countries name properly should face travel bans
  11. Lets just get a couple of things straight here mon ami. France is not my 'adopted country'. I am a Scot who was married to a French lady. All of my in-laws and an awful lot of family are therefore French. Both my kids live in France and have done since my ex and I got divorced three years ago. My son (now eight) does not even remember the first five years of his life that he spent in England. Given that, who the hell am I meant to support if England are playing France? My little boy would probably never speak to me again if I supported Engleterre. I won't be made to feel that I should be locked up in the Tower just because I refuse to chant Eng-ul-und, Eng-ul-und when England are playing some other team. I France were playing Scotland I would be split down the middle trying to decide who to support. Having said all that I am genuinely GLAD that England have made it through to the next round and I am looking forward to a France v England final. I will be in France then so I can pop over the road to the bar and watch it on the big telly, and you can bet that I'll be shouting ZIZOU ZIZOU ZIZOU with the best of them when Zidane sticks it in the back of your net!
  12. Sorry, one of those funny double posts. [ 22. June 2004, 03:10 PM: Message edited by: corydoras ]
  13. I'd better get me tin hat on for this troll. Geordie - A Jock with all the intelligence removed. Yorkshireman - A geordie with all the generosity extracted.
  14. We all know that St George is the Patron Saint of England, but did you know that he is also Patron Saint of Portugal. Who will the saint smile on on Thursday night, England or Portugal?
  15. No but I do have a minor infestation of Lepisma saccharina L. in my flat in France.
  16. Absolutely. Not a huge footie fan, but I enjoyed every minute of the game. Would all England fans please accept a huge 'well done' from a Scot. Maybe we will have a France v England final after all?
  17. Well at least you are honest. I found that with my girl she hardly ever needed a smack, a raised voice was normally enough to stop her in her tracks, and my little boy just does not need it. He is proud that has dad has never needed to give him a smack for three years. The rule is simple in my house. Do what you are asked to do, the first time you are asked and there will be no sanctions or smacking.
  18. Sorry to hear that Alan. I went out mulleteering at the weekend and blanked (again).
  19. Sorry mate you have lost me now. A smack with tha hand is one thing. A smack with any implement is common assault and should be treated as such. (IMHO)
