  2. Avatar napper  whats this forum rage! Not at all, just a little light hearted banter. Until I get my hands on those Avatar rustlers
  3. Welcome Berty I'm sure you will learn the drill soon and be able to extract the information you need. BTW I'm glad you didn't use my AVATAR as that seems to be the most popular at the moment. Cheers Scap.

  8. What a lovely picture, are you a well known film star?
  9. This is what you have to swear/sign. Oath of allegiance I (name) swear by Almighty God that on becoming a British citizen, I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, her Heirs and Successors, according to law. What I was asked to sign missed out the British citizen bit as it assumed I already was one! Edited bit. I just realised Chesters that you are implying that one should swear to anything just to get cheap drinks. Whilst it may be accepted that standards in British life have declined. This Britons word is still his bond [ 09. August 2005, 10:25 AM: Message edited by: Scapanapper ]
  10. On the subject of The British Legion. I was invited to join as a full member recently ( there are fewer people eligible these days ) but I had to decline when asked to swear alligence to the the Queen and her heirs and successors. Although I am a Republican at heart, I do have a personal respect for the current Queen. However heirs and successors is just too much of a blank cheque
  11. I saw a BBC TV programme last night (Real Story, I think) that featured British EX Pats ( you will notice they don't call them selves immigrants) in Spain. Amongst some horror stories of how these gentle folk had suffered at the hands of totally unjust local laws there were some interesting statistics quoted. In a recent survey only 4% of the resident Brits described themselves as fluent in Spanish and only 40% said they had anything to do socially with the local community. It was also said that 90+% percent of the bars were run by Brits who insisted on serving only British style food and drinks. There was also some lovely scenes of life in Spain including bingo at the local branch of the Royal British Legion. Does this ring any bells??? Cheers Scapa
  12. To go completley off topic ( Captain Birdseye has no PM link) Captain I am really flattered that you are so impressed with my image that you borrow it. However in order to avoid confusion please FIND YOUR OWN AVATAR!!!!! Kindest regards Scapa
  13. Hi Basshead. No need to buy a dropnet, make one as suggested by Sandtiger in this post. Drop net idea
  14. What a handsome chap!!! Steady girls don't all rush to Orkney at once
  15. I've just seen the TV news about the Birmingham Tornado. They are saying it has caused millions of pounds worth of improvements
  16. Good news if they are catching the culprits. My only concern is that in the medias' frenzy to bring us immediate news they give some hot shot defence lawyer a call for an unfair trial allowing the perpetrator to walk free on a technicality [ 27.
