  1. if anyone has 1 or 2 of these still kicking around I'd be interested in them. Green blanks, made by Normark and called the "RM Long distance carp", I've got one and would like ideally 2 more but I know they're old by todays standards; 15+ years. If anyone can help.
  2. I found this if it's any good to you, if the e-mail isn't working you could always source a telephone number and speak to a real person http://www.partridge-of-redditch.co.uk/pdf...rhunter2005.pdf
  3. You'd do worse than contact cemex angling, they have a web site.
  4. Hi, I'm looking for 1 or 2 of the Ritchie Mcdonald models in 12 ft 2.75 test, green blanks if anyone could help much appreciated. Thanks, Nobby.
  5. Saw the bait boat, good luck to the buyer, best not put it down in the grass come Autumn!! The syndicate lake looks like the sort of place best avoided at all costs, a barren hole in the ground.
  6. The pond where I first cut my fishing teeth held pike and try as we might, they just would not get caught on lures, lives or deads so much so that it became accepted fact. THE way to target them was bayer perlon 4.4 lb ,float rod and size 8 hook with a lobworm. All captures were hooked in the scissors, no trace just mono all the way through. I guess we could have kept one rod out with a fish bait and trace on but nothing ever came of it when that method was tried by anybody.
  7. I am tempted to suggest that the flavour has very little to do with the result. If you only fished with one flavour it stands to reason that when you catch it will be on that flavour.Had you tried 2 rods with different flavours you may have had different results.Bait can be such a complicated subject, and flavour is but a minority role to play.Unless you insist on making your own baits, which can be a mind bender in itself, you will be better off contacting one of the many bait companies out there,( and there are many more than the big, well known players) and talk about your prediciment along with shelling out for 5kg of freshly rolled. This would cost around £35, if you try catcherbaits or Destiny baits and buy 10kg you be paying in the region of £50, a chunky sum but a lot of decent bait, however you need the freezer space to store them.bait is an ongoing enigma for many, with all due respect, there is more to it than flavour.
  8. thanks Greg, any further info on permits and availability/sellers,stretches, is it day ticket, or club?, I understand this guy aint short of the shilling, he wants an oppurtunity to angle, I doubt that cost has priority over the chance to have a cast. My involvement goes as far as helping someone out. Anyways, thank you for your efforts.
  9. Evening gentlemen, as above, does anyone have information on trout/salmon fishing in and around this area? It's in Co. Cork I understand, my (non-fishing) pals' boss wants to know if any oppurtunities are available and not being a fluff flinger myself ,I thought I would avail myself of those with the knowledge and perhaps personal experience. Thanks for reading this, Steve
  10. I rate catcherbaits, I've only used the crab and fruit version but it works so no complaints there and Frank sell them at a decent price too.
  11. Can anyone help me? I'm looking for 'opti polos' and 'opti bolts' as made by Solar tackle in the 80's. Cheers all.

Also 3 off century NG's in three & half TC £350 inc c/w padded holdall. 3 off tournament 6000T reels for..............£350 inc post or offers Got lucky? the lot for £900.
  17. That'll be Richmond Tube or North Sheen overground, unfortunately you would not call either near and no bus goes anywhere near either so its wheels or Shanks' pony if you feel like a couple of miles trek uphill! had a spell there myself, (I live 1 mile away) and Summer is murder there. Only at penn ponds will you feel the full malignence of the ignorant dog walker who after circumnavigating a mile of angler free bankside will then proceed to hurl a stick over your lines before commenting that they did not see you fishing there, No, I always carry some rods to point at a any convenient bit of water I may come across get over that and you stand a chance, I stopped when I found myself attacking a dog and kicking its fleeing @rse. No carp but I did get a tufty and a jack on bottom baits!
  18. Greys GRX spin in 9' and 3 piece up to 100 grammes casting weight, a great little rod with a good casting action and serious leverage power, about £80 though.
  19. Comus, you need to be certain if the ban is referring to nuts themselves (tigers, peanuts brasils etc) or nut based baits, as in baits containing nut meal. dynamites tiger boilies and pop ups for example. The reason nuts themselves are banned is because if you allow say tiger nuts to be used how will the fishery owner be able to differentiate between commercially prepared and home prepared baits. there has been too much abuse in the past and folks are not prepared to leave such issues to chance. Check with the relevent authority for clarification.
  20. With respect Steve, there is an undercurrent of feeling that a the lions share of licence revenue is allocated to game fisheries. On another point, while some signs have been put up in certain areas in Polish about needing a licence and taking fish stocks there is very little else being done to implement this, it is a difficult call to enforce. I can understand the reluctence of sea anglers to pay to fish coastal water when commercial trawlers from all over the globe can and do scrape up whatever they come across, retain for sale or discard after selecting the 'prime cut' , dead, and back into the sea. Iceland got it right with their exclusion zone and protected stocks.
  21. Is this a river fish? Have caught mahseer and even though the current has to affect the battle I have never experienced anything like it in freshwater. Apologies to all for wandering off topic.
  22. When using the stick I can wholeheartedly recommend getting yourself the stick needle produced by 'Thinking Anglers', they are very long, robust and come in a protective tube where the handle is the top cap. I also use mine for threading foam nuggets onto the hooklink prior to attachment to the mainline which goes a long way to prevent tangles and the associated jumpiness and uncertainty. Yateley Angling have them for starters, no commercial ties for me, just passing on info about a piece of kit I am well happy with.
  23. Have not used the fox one but did buy a greyflex spin which has the same casting weight credentials as the fox, it is a delight to use , quite tippy and fast tapered. Should there be any breakage Greys will replace for £15.00 total; lifetime guarantee. I have no confidence in fox gear though.
