  1. Picture finally attached. It includes numerous Pot noodles, sweetcorn tins, luncheon meat tins, various cans of lager, a spool of line and numerous other random rubbish.
  2. i keep trying this, but cannot get it to work???
  3. I have tried attaching the picture, but does not want to work ?? Lets just say it was un-believable....
  4. sorry, thought I had attached a picture...must have done it wrong...
  5. Had the misfortune of stumbling across this today. How on earth can people walk away from a session leaving this.....
  6. All very good points, but I do believe some people believe having top end tackle will catch you fish, no good having a guitar if you cant play it.... Not sure if anyone has ever done any tests, budget vs top end, results would be very interesting....
  7. Catching fish is about your rig, bait and location........who gives a monkeys what colour your bucket is or how many tone settings you have on your buzzers, or the fact that your bivvy could stand up in gale force storms....you are all being ripped....
  8. Just wondering how anyone who was out at the weekend got on.I am off the rest of week so gonna get a few sessions in, just intersted to see whats hot and whats not at the moment...
  9. Good luck with your venture and put me down for your opening week!!. All inclusive is the way forward, i do it every year in Canada, why stay in a smelly bivvy fending for yourself when you can have a bed and a shower and some great food for about the same cost. I am sure you venture will pay off and keep me posted. Quinnos
  10. anyone wanna buy a duckdo... ??
  11. There will be a lot of ill ducks around the country I feel. Can anyone expand on why it is bad for them, they obviously dont know this??
  12. Newt, Good points: I fished the river the week after the event (on canadian side) and it was thick with fish. I could have won the event from the pegs I fished......
  13. Newt, St LAwrence is certainly wild, but if the fish ain't in your swim, you ain't gonna catch. I think it was more down to poor organisation than anything. Pegging out swims that had not even been cleared of poison ivy is poor.. I am sure it will be better this year, but I am also sure that last year could have been better...
  14. Big commons, they fight like billy ho..... second would have to be Ghosties of any description....
  15. This years expedition is to fish the Severn-Trent Waterway in Peterborough, Canada, Kawartha Lakes I think. Anyone fished here?? if so what sort of action can I expect late May. Cheers
  16. I am going to try for some river carp this year, have some likely spots planned (thanks to some advise off this site), I have another trip to Canada planned for May, so hopefully that will produce some great commons for me.
  17. All, I am going to attempt to get on to Redmire this year. Has anyone been?? If so whats the place like, is it as magical as one expects?? Anyone know how many they let on at a time?? Thanks
  18. All sorted thanks to the help available on this site. Cheers
  19. I want to add an avatar but all my pictures files are too large, anyone know how to reduce them ??
  20. anyone got a link where you can download this game (for free) cheers...
  21. dont know about the dogs, you will need to ask them. I know they are virtually full this year if you have not booked. The fishing is very good, specimen lake usual tactics, look for features and then spod some bait to these, have a word with boss a week before you go to see if any hook baits are standing out. DO NOT just fish the specimen lakes, take waggler kit too, the lakes are stuffed full of fish and 300lbs is easily achieved in a pleasure sitting. Its a wonderful place, the accomodation is superb.
  22. I would suggest buying a few ready made hair rigs to get you going, then buy all the ingredients and start making your own (between runs), its so much cheaper and more rewarding too. There is loads of stuff on the net regarding rig tying. May be worth fishing somewhere relatively easy at first, runs keep the spirit alive. I have seen too many people buy all the kit and then sit on a super hard lake for ages with (predictably) no takes and then pack it all in through dejection, this of course keeps the second hand tackle market buoyant and means there are some bargains to be had!! Good luck and let us all know how you get on...
  23. I am thinking of spending some time at Bluebell Lakes in Northamptonshire in the spring, any feedback from those who know the waters would be appreciated.
  24. Anything along the lines of "Passion for Angling" would be a hit. I know many people who are non anglers who have watched the programmes and thoroughly enjoyed them. Techy stuff is no good on TV, basics like bait and location would be enough, the rest would be all about enjoying being there, exactly what "Passion" captured.
  25. I am a small bloke, when you catch a good fish, you find the energy to hold them up for your prized picture, I caught a 35lb common in Canada this year whilst struggling with a very bad back, the pain in lifting the fish for the picture was real bad, but I found the energy...as I am sure we all could and would... That fish is outstanding...leave the bloke alone guys...
